The Crown's Fate by Evelyn Skye Review

Hello Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I haven't really been reading much fantasy as of late. I have enjoyed many Christian titles within this genre, but I've found the newer secular releases to be much too dark for my liking. That being said, I recently had the chance to read the second book in a young adult fantasy duology, and after enjoying the first book, I was looking forward to trying the next. Keep reading below to find out what I ended up thinking about it. The Crown's Fate by Evelyn Skye: Source: Bought for Myself Publisher: Balzer and Bray Publication Date: May 16th, 2017 Genre: Young Adult Fiction/Fantasy Series: The Crown's Game Synopsis: Russia is on the brink of great change. Pasha’s coronation approaches, and Vika is now the Imperial Enchanter, but the role she once coveted may be more difficult—and dangerous—than she ever expected. Pas...

Dark Skies by Danielle Jensen Review

Hello Friends :) Is there a genre that as of late you haven't been reading as much? I used to absolutely love fantasy books back in the day. I inhaled them as fast as I could get my hands on them, but then in recent years I kept finding the majority of them disappointing.  Of course, there has been some standouts for me still, like The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye and The Queen's Rising duology by Rebecca Ross.  However, I was starting to not be that interested in the genre as much anymore, which honestly saddened me. However, when April rolled around, I was once again craving an awesome fantasy story. I happened to stumble upon this upcoming release by Danielle Jensen that had a fantastic synopsis, and I decided to pick it up and give it a go. The Story Raider by Lindsay A Franklin Review

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you've all had a great week so far. You may have noticed that I didn't end up posting on Wednesday. Wednesday was actually my birthday, and I decided to take the day off from blogging and reviewing, in order to spend a nice quiet day with my husband and some of my family. Sometimes it's nice to spend birthdays quietly with the people love, and I'm glad I set the day aside this year to do that. However, now I'm back feeling much refreshed and ready to dive into more reading and reviewing. How has your 2020 reading been going so far? I personally set my 2020 goodreads goal at 115 novels, and while I will probably end up reading more than that, I'm also hoping to focus more on reviewing more of the books I read this year rather than just speedily going from one book to the next. For today's post, I'd like to share a review with you all for a much anticipated read for me. I'd read the first book in this series last...

The Crowns of Croswald by D.E. Night Review

Hello Bookish Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. Do you have any fun plans for the rest of the week? My hubby and I are actually in the middle of a small vacation. We spent the weekend in one city, now were back home until tomorrow, and then we'll be leaving for another short holiday to a couple of different cities. I'm very much looking forward to it. I will definitely still be posting on my blog while I'm gone, but I'm not sure if I'll be posting the full three times a week or not. Today, as I'm hustling and bustling about to get all the last minute things done before we leave, I knew I had to make some time to share a review for an amazing middle grade novel that I just recently finished. I've mentioned quite a few times on my blog how much I love middle grade, but I don't too often get a chance to review it. I'm excited to...

The Queen's Resistance by Rebecca Ross

Hello Bookish Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. A few days ago I shared my review for The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross which you can find here.   I was blown away by just how much I enjoyed it, especially since I hadn't been having the greatest luck with the fantasy genre lately. With how much I enjoyed the first book, I was really looking forward to diving into the second. However, I was also a little nervous, as I didn't know if it could possibly live up to the amazing book first. Today I'd like to share with you all what I thought after finishing reading the second book. The Queen's Resistance by Rebecca Ross: Source: Library Publisher: HarperTeen Publication Date: March 5th, 2019 Genre: Young Adult/Fantasy Series: The Queen's Rising Synopsis: The highly anticipated sequel to The Queen’s Rising! Finally, Brienna is a m...
