Searching for Certainty: Finding God in the Disruptions of Life by Shelly Miller

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I recently had a chance to read an upcoming Christian non fiction title, and today I'll be sharing with all of you what I thought about it. Searching for Certainty: Finding God in the Disruptions of Life by Shelly Miller: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Bethany House Publication Date: October 13th, 2020 Genre: Christian Non-Fiction Synopsis: We all long for certainty in life, yet things often don't go as we expect. When facing illness, job loss, strained relationships, and other struggles, our impulse is to question God and strive to fix things ourselves. In this book, Shelly Miller, a trusted ministry leader, explores how difficult times can actually be purposeful times of spiritual growth. Weaving the exodus story from the Bible with her own story, she shares how to focus on God rather than trying to overcome chal

Charmed by the Cowboy by Mandi Blake Review

Happy Saturday Friends :) It's been a little while since I've last posted on here. My hubby and I were away for a few days, and unfortunately the place we were didn't have the greatest wifi. We had lots of things go wrong on vacation, and I was still struggling a bit with the spiritual warfare battle I've been fighting. It wasn't quite the vacation we were expecting, but it was still nice to get away for a few days. I've actually hopping on to do a post on Saturday this weekend as my hubby and I are leaving for the second part of our vacation tomorrow. We're both praying this part of it will be a more positive experience. I wanted to quickly talk about one issue before I dive into today's review. With all the struggles I've been dealing with, I've come to realize that the mantra of "garbage in, garbage out" is more important than ever in these dark days, especially for Christians. This of course is going to mean different things for e

An Amish Christmas Wedding by Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller, Kelly Irvin, and Vannetta Chapman Review

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I've mentioned many times before that Amy Clipston is one of my all time favorite authors, and I always look forward to getting to read her new releases. This particular book was a really fun one to read as I got to read another of Amy's sweet novellas, and read novellas by two other authors I've come to really enjoy, and also be introduced to a new to me author in Vannetta Chapman. Scripture of the Week: September 3rd, 2020

Happy Thursday Friends :) I hope and pray that September is treating you well so far, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another edition of Scripture of the Week here on The Preppy Book Princess. I talked last week about a spiritual warfare battle I've been going through, and I'm still fighting my way through it. I'm trying to turn to prayer and God's word as much as I possibly can to battle against the enemy, and today I'd like to share with you another Bible verse that has been a tremendous help to me lately. Psalm 56:3 "When I am afraid, I will trust in you." I've loved this verse ever since I first started reading the Mandie books by Lois Gladys Leppard as a young child, as it was one of Mandie's favorite verses and often mentioned throughout the series. It may seem to be a simple verse, but it's meaning is extremely powerful. When I'm afraid I will turn to God instead of turning to fear and anxiety, and it's an extrem

The Price of Valor by Susan May Warren Review

Happy Wednesday Friends :) Are you all excited for the upcoming change of the seasons? For me personally, the months of September through December are my absolute favorite time of the year, and I adore fall, Thanksgiving, and the Christmas season. September has been one of my favorite months for quite awhile, and that's partly because I appreciate the calm it brings in with it after the craziness of summer. That being said, this September I've actually got a lot going on, especially for the first couple of weeks so I'm not sure how many blog posts you guys will end up seeing. I will try my best, but I have a couple of vacations coming up and I'm not sure that the wifi will be the greatest where we're going. However, today I'm here to do another book review with you guys for Susan May Warren's upcoming release.
