Top 5 Wednesday: Settings You Want To See More Of

Hello Fellow Readers :) I hope everyone's having a great week so far, and I'm excited to be back here today with another Top 5 Wednesday Post. Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on YouTube, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes, who's also from YouTube. The group communicates through goodreads, and here's the link to the page if you're interested in learning more about it: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday This week's topic is a fun one, as it is Settings You Want To See More Of, and let me tell you there's many settings and places I would love to see more of from my favorite books, and I'm excited to share those with you today. 1) Narnia from The Chronicles Of Narnia by C.S. Lewis: The Narnia books were one of my first experiences with falling head over heels for a series, and part of that love was definitely the setting. Who wouldn't want there to b

Book Review: The Unexpected Everything By Morgan Matson

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and that your week is off to a great start. I had mentioned on Friday that I was taking my nephew to a local festival over the weekend, and I can honestly say this was such a fun time as he absolutely loved it. Our community puts on a huge kite festival each year, and it's the biggest of its kind in North America. Its become a tradition for my nephew and I to attend together each year, and this year my parents (mom and stepdad), came with us as well. It was a really fun way to spend part of the weekend, but I was also able to get in some quality reading time, and I'm here today to talk about one of the amazing books I recently finished, The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. Morgan Matson is one of my all time favorite contemporary authors, and I've come to expect great things every time I pick up a book written by her. I had first heard about this near the start of this year, and I've been anxiously

Friday Reads: June 24th, 2016

Happy Friday To All My Fellow Readers! Honestly guys I'm so excited it's finally the weekend. This has been such a rough week, with work being insanely busy, and trying to get caught up on housework and yard work, and all that fun stuff, and I'm so ready to finally have some time to relax. I'm still working today and tomorrow, but am thankful that I have Sunday off, as I will be spending it with my nephew at a local festival which has become a tradition for the two of us to attend together. What are everyone else's plans for the weekend? Hopefully it will be a nice weekend weather wise to be outside. And speaking of it finally being Friday, I'm excited to once again be doing a #Friday Reads post. #Friday Reads is a weekly meme that is hosted by the Petite Book Blogger, and it consists of talking about the books you will be reading over the weekend, describing whether or not you're liking them, and whether or not you plan on reviewing them. While I kn

Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Video/Posts

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers! I hope everyone's having a great week, and I'm so excited to be back this week for a new Top 5 Wednesday Post. For anyone who's unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it's a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on YouTube, and is not moderated by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes, also from YouTube. If you're interested in learning more about it, or in becoming part of the community, here is the link to the goodreads page, which is where the group communicates: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday Today's topic is a little bit different than the normal Top 5 Wednesday posts I've done. Today's topic is Favorite Videos/Posts, and is a chance to highlight you're favorite posts or videos from your own blog or channel. I really had fun looking back over my past posts to pick my five favorites, and I'm excited to share them all with you today. 1) First, and fore

Bookish Resolutions: Halfway Check In

Hey guys, I hope all my fellow readers had a lovely weekend, and enjoyed celebrating the day that recognizes all the amazing fathers out there! I spent yesterday morning baking cinnamon roll bread to give as a gift to both my father, and my stepfather, both of who enjoyed it immensely. I then spent the afternoon having a visit with my father, and the evening at a BBQ that my mother threw for my stepfather. I always feel so blessed to live in the same community as most of my family, and really appreciated the time we all got to spend together yesterday. The only damper on the whole day was that Neil was working, and wasn't able to come with me to visit anyone, but oh well, sometimes those things happen, and we went ahead and made the best of it. Also, I have to say that I can't wait to see June finally come to an end. June is always my least favorite month of the entire year, as there's several huge events that happen in our city this month, and that always makes work

Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Literary Fathers/Father Figures

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers! I hope you're all having a great week so far. I hate to admit it, but I was tempted to skip out on my Top 5 Wednesday Post this week. Unfortunately, work has been beyond belief stressful the last couple of days as we've been having a huge lack of consideration from some of our employees who haven't felt like doing their job properly, and as such, the rest of us have really had to pick up the slack. With all of this going on, I really didn't think I'd be cheerful enough to do this week's topic justice, but I decided not to let those people ruin this for me, and I'm going to go ahead and do it anyways. To anyone unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it's a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts On Tomes. Me, My Elf and I by Heather Swain

Happy Monday Ya'll, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and I just wanted to say that my thoughts and prayers are with Orlando right now in this devastating turn of events. It breaks my heart to keep hearing about these horrible events happening all around our world, and I know it makes me remember every day to never take anything for granted, as we just never know what our future holds. :( This weekend was a sad one for my family, as yesterday, June 12th, would have been my paternal Grandmother's 90th birthday, if she were still with us. I took some time yesterday to go shopping with my dad for bright and colorful flowers that we felt she would loved, and went to visit her grave with them. It was a humbling experience for both of us, and I was grateful for this precious time we were able to take to do so. So, with this sad time upon us, I was definitely in the mood for a lighter read to lift my spirits, and I can definitely say that Me, My Elf and I by Heather Swain def

May 2016 Wrap Up:

Happy Friday Guys! I can't even express how happy I am to finally be posting my May 2016 wrap up! It should have gone up a whole week ago, but unfortunately due to health issues, I had to postpone blogging for a bit. I also don't think I realized just how many books I burned through while I was sick until I went to post this today. I guess that's the one benefit of being sick, is finally having time to catch up on my TBR pile! Anyways, here's my May 2016 wrap up: One Star Books: I've mentioned in every wrap up I've done, how I try to never rate a book one star, as I know how much time and effort authors put into writing their novels, and I always try and find at least one redeeming quality with which I can move it up to two stars. Unfortunately, this month, there was one book with which I just couldn't find any redeeming quality with which to do so, and that was: Kill The Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky :  I always try and at least find one redeeming

Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Character Names

Hey guys! I'm so excited to be taking part in this week's Top 5 Wednesday Post, especially since I ended up having to miss out on last week's topic. :( For anyone who's unfamiliar, Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. The group communicates through goodreads, and you should check out the link if you're interested in learning more about it. https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday I can definitely say as a booknerd, that there's been many, many times that I've completely fallen in love with a character's name while reading a book, and today I'm excited to share my favorite character names of all time with you guys for this week's topic, Favorite Character Names. 1) Etienne St.Clair from Anna and The French Kiss:  I have to of course, start with my favorite character name of all time, and that is Etienne St. Clair

May 2016 Book Haul

Hello All My Fellow Readers :) I'm once again so sorry for having to take a full week off from my blog! Unfortunately, health issues don't usually come when it's convenient for us, so I had to follow doctor's orders, and enjoy bed rest for a week. I am so glad to finally be done with the IV, as I was going completely stir crazy not being able to do anything. but I did have a ton of free time on my hands to read. It's honestly probably embarrassing just how many books I went through in the last week, and I'll be talking about them all in my May and June wrap ups. Today I want to do a post that was meant to go up last week, and that is my May 2016 book haul! I'll also hopefully be posting my May 2016 wrap up this week as well! It probably seems a little ridiculous that today's post is going to be another book haul, especially considering my last post was my giant haul from RT, but after coming home from the convention, I decided to  order some books

Sorry For My Absense

Hey guys, Long time no see, and I promise I haven't forgotten about you all.:) Unfortunately, I had quite a few posts that should have been posted in the past few days, including a May book haul, and my May wrap up, but they will now be quite a bit delayed. I, unfortunately, didn't notice the early symptoms of a kidney infection until it got to serious point, and now I'm basically on bed rest with an IV drip through the rest of the week, and it's way too hard to type and work on templating posts at the moment. I promise I will be back next week with lots of new content, but this week I just won't be able to, and I apologize profusely to all my readers. I hope you guys are all having an amazing week, and I love you all. I will see you all back here next here, and in the meantime, I hope you're all discovering some amazing new books to read. :) Thanks Guys!
