Hello Fellow Readers :)
I hope everyone's having a great week so far, and I'm excited to be back here today with another Top 5 Wednesday Post.
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on YouTube, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes, who's also from YouTube. The group communicates through goodreads, and here's the link to the page if you're interested in learning more about it:

This week's topic is a fun one, as it is Settings You Want To See More Of, and let me tell you there's many settings and places I would love to see more of from my favorite books, and I'm excited to share those with you today.
1) Narnia from The Chronicles Of Narnia by C.S. Lewis:
The Narnia books were one of my first experiences with falling head over heels for a series, and part of that love was definitely the setting. Who wouldn't want there to be a magical world that can be accessed through a wardrobe, and I would honestly love to see another series set in Narnia again. I know this is highly unlikely, but that doesn't meant I still don't want to see it.
2) Dystopian Regency Era
This may be a bit of an odd choice, but I really loved the setting Lia Habel used for her Gone With The Respiration duology. It's set in the year 2195, but the world has returned to the regency times, and it's simply called "New Victoria." I thought this was such a unique take on both a regency era setting, and a dystopian setting, and I would love to see more books like this in the future.
3) Time Travel
I love the fact that there has been so many more YA time travel books lately, as I think it's such an awesome setting for a novel, but I would honestly love to see even more. I love how with time travel books generally there is many different settings employed throughout the one novel, and I love the chance to get to explore multiple setting throughout one great story.
4) The West
I often really enjoy books that are set in the west, or the prairies/frontier, and while I've read many adult books that have this setting, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a lot of YA books with this particular setting. I've heard that Rae Carson's Walk On Earth A Stranger has this type of setting, and so I'm really excited to read that one. I would still love to see more books set in the west in the future though, and hopefully this will happen.
5) New York At Christmas
My final pick is a pretty specific one, and that is New York at Christmas. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with Christmas books in general, and there's always something so special about Christmas books that are set in beautiful New York City. In particular, I'd love to see some YA contemporaries with this setting, and I can guarantee those would be my perfect kind of read.
That's it for my picks for this week. I'd love to hear what all you guys chose, if you took part in this week's topic. :)
Thanks for reading everyone, and I'll see you all in my next post.

As a fan of both Doctor Who and Back to the Future, time-travel is awesome (Though I couldn't finish Passenger), so it would be great to read more time-travel books. Here's my list http://thebookprophet.weebly.com/home/top-5-wednesday-settings-you-want-to-see-more-of
ReplyDeleteI'm always excited to meet a fellow time travel fan :) I haven't personally read Passenger yet, but now you have me curious, was there something in particular you didn't like about it? Thanks so much for reading my post this week!
DeleteTime travel is a good one, wish I thought of it. I put the West on mine too.

I love time travel books, and that was honestly the first one that came to my mind when I saw this week's topic. Yay for you choosing the west as well, have you read Walk On Earth A Stranger Yet? I've heard it's really good, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Thanks so much for commenting!
