Keeping Christmas by Allison Pittman Review

Good Morning Bookish Lovelies :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you've taken the time to drop on by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review. It's been a couple of long crazy weeks, and unfortunately that means my blogging time has been practically non existent. However, I wanted to get at least one more Christmas in July post up before the end of the month for you all, and that's exactly what I'm here to share today.  Today's review is a review that I'm particularly excited to share with you all, and that's primarily for two reasons. 1) I love getting to share about books during the Christmas season (or the Christmas in July season) that highlight the true reason for the season, and this one definitely does. 2) If you didn't already know this about me, which I'm sure some of you don't, I absolutely adore A Christmas Carol. I've read and watched so many variations and spin offs over the years wi...

Consider Jesus: Daily Reflections on the Book of Hebrews by Donald R. Jacobs Review

Good Morning Bookish Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you've taken the time to drop on by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review. I'm Kirby, and I'm always thrilled to welcome you over to my little corner of the internet. I'm a Christian gal who has been a voracious reader ever since I was a young child, and I particularly enjoy devouring titles that point the path to our precious Lord and Savior.  One of my more recent reading goals has been to read more Christian non-fiction. I want to spend more time studying the scriptures and learning more of the meaning behind them, and I'm enjoying finding titles that are helping me do so. A couple of years ago, an elderly man who has been a longtime friend of my family's wanted to downsize his ginormous book collection. He told me to help myself to whatever books I wanted, and I ended up taking home quite a few.  A lot of these titles were either older/and or les...

Hello Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you've chosen to take the time to stop by The Preppy Book Princess for another book review. The last couple of years, I've been trying to dive into reading more Christian non-fiction titles. I want to read more hard hitting stuff that truly causes me to examine my faith, and not just the fluffy devotionals that are so often aimed at women these days. A book had come on my radar quite a few times that I'd heard both amazing and horrible things about, and I decided it was time to give it a try. I hope you'll all keep reading down below to find out what I ended up thinking about it. Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt: Source: Gift From a Friend Publisher: Multnomah Publication Date: May 4th, 2010 Genre: Christian Non Fiction/Christian Living Synopsis: What is Jesus worth to you? Another Gospel: A Lifelong Christian Seeks Truth in Response to Progressive Christianity by Alisa Childers Review

Hello Everyone :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review. Today we're going to be diving into a review of another Christian non fiction title, and I can't say enough amazing things about this particular title. As a Christian woman who has wanted to dive into reading more non fiction titles this year, I'm honestly kind of saddened by just how many titles aimed at my demographic are basically pure fluff reads. If I want to grow my faith, I need to read hard hitting books that don't sugarcoat the truth, and I was happy to finally find another title that seemed to hit this mark for me. I hope you'll all keep reading down below for my full review. Holding On To Hope: A Pathway through Suffering to the Heart of God by Nancy Guthrie Review

Hello Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I'm going to be a bit candid on my blog today, as an intro into today's review, and let you all know that the last few years have been extremely difficult for me. I don't really feel like going into specifics, but to put it mildly, I've felt for quite a while like my "in the wilderness" season is never going to pass, and sometimes it's really hard to feel motivated to try and make an effort with anything when everything has been as bad as it has. I'm extremely grateful to Jesus and my hubby for pulling me through the darkest days again and again, and when I happened to stumble upon this Christian living book I'm about to share with you all today, I knew I wanted to give it a try. My circumstances of suffering were nothing like the author's, but considering she'd been through unimaginable ...

Part of my World: What I've Learned from the Little Mermaid about Love, Faith and Finding my Voice by Jodi Benson with Carol Traver Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I haven't really talked too much on my blog about my not really being a Disney fan anymore, but I have to be honest that I've been very disheartened with some of the company's recent decisions, and it doesn't really seem to be a company, that as a Christian, I can find much value in anymore.  However, when I was a big Disney fan, The Little Mermaid was pretty much always my favorite, and I loved the fact that Jodi Benson (the woman who does Ariel's voice), is a Christian, and often uses her platform from this character to share her faith. When I heard she had a book releasing about her faith and her journey to become the voice behind such a famous character, I knew I couldn't wait to read it. Today I'm excited to share my review of this one with you all, and I hope you'll keep reading below ...

Hello Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I've mentioned quite a bit on my blog lately that life has been really challenging lately, and I've been trying to lean into Jesus more and more, instead of trying to rely on my own strength. One such way I've been trying to grow my faith is by reading devotionals, and today I'd like to share with you all a review of a devotional that I read throughout 2021 that I really ended up loving. The Confident Woman Devotional: 365 Daily Inspirations by Joyce Meyer Review

Hello Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. If I'm being completely honest, the last year and a half have been really difficult for me. So many devastating blows have come my way in the last while, and sometimes it's hard to want to stay motivated to keep going.  I'm sure many of you have been through these times as well, and one of my favorite ways of combatting them is trying to draw closer to Jesus. For Christmas 2020, my mom gifted me a new 365 day devotional to focus on during the year 2021, and today I'd like to share a short review of that devotional with you all.
