Vacation haul :)

Hey guys!            I always find after returning from vacations that it takes me literally forever to upload and edit all the pictures.  As such, I haven't shared too much on my blog about our trip yet, but I decided today would be a good day to share the haul of all the goodies I brought back from our fabulous time in Disney World. We didn't end up buying nearly as much as we usually do, thanks to the low Canadian dollar right now, but I'm very happy with the things I did pick up.  First, we returned from the theme parks one night to find a gorgeous arrangement from Disney floral and gifts in our room. One of our amazing friends sent us this as a surprise for our anniversary and it's gorgeous. It came with sparkling cider, trail mix and crackers that we enjoyed while we were there, and we brought the chocolates, flutes and this gorgeous tray that I can't wait to find a spot for, home with us. We definitely felt spoiled and i can't thank my frien

Fifty Bookish Questions Tag :)

Hello all my fellow readers. I'm hoping to be back on track with my regular Top 5 Wednesday posts next week, but this week instead I'm actually going to be doing a fun tag post, originally from Life Of A Female Bibliophile's blog, who's one of my all time favorite book bloggers. There's a lot of questions to answer, but they all sound really fun, and I'm going to go ahead and get started. 1) What Was The Last Book You Read? This was actually My Hope Next Door by Tammy L. Gray. 2) Was it a good one? Yes! I thought it was one of the best inspirational novels I've read in a long time, and Tammy L. Gray has definitely been added to the list of authors I want to try again in the future. 3) What made it good? The chemistry between the main characters, the way it shows that even Christians aren't "perfect" like is so often misinterpreted, and the way it portrayed things realistically, and authentically. 4) Would you recommend it to o

My Hope Next Door by Tammy L Gray Review

Happy Monday Guys! I hope you all had an awesome weekend. :) Neil and I had a really good weekend actually, and enjoyed getting to catch up around the house, spend some downtime reading and playing board games, and I was happy to have had some time to do some baking that I've been wanting to do for awhile. I also was lucky enough to have found the spare time to finish one of the arcs that I currently have from Netgalley, and that is My Hope Next Door by Tammy L Gray. I really loved how this novel portrayed an extrememly realistic look at the two main Christian characters, and since I can't wait to share all my feelings about it with all you guys, let's go ahead and get started with the review! Source: Netgalley Publisher: Waterfall Press Synopsis: Former bad girl Katie Stone can feel the weight of her reputation settle over her as she drives home for the first time in years. Feeling deeply guilty about her past mistakes, Katie wants to do the right thing

Review: A Will, A Way and A Wedding by Melody Carlson

Hello Fellow Readers:) I hope everyone is having a great week, and is getting ready for the weekend.  I haven't been featuring too many reviews on my blog lately, and sorry to say, that's mainly because I haven't actually read that many books in the last couple of weeks, with vacation and whatnot. However, a couple of days ago I did have the opportunity to finish a book that was a highly anticipated read for me, and I'm excited to be reviewing it on my blog here today. As I'm sure you can already tell from the post title, that book is: A Will, A Way, and A Wedding by Melody Carlson. Source: Library Publisher: Whitefire Publishing Synopsis: As Daphne begins making reluctant plans to let Aunt Dee's house and life go and pick up the pieces of her fractured life, the guy she's been dreaming about begins to change his tune. Of course, another huge obstacle pops up at about the same time, threatening to ruin what might finally be true love. M

Books I'm Currently Reading ;)

Hey Guys, I'm finally back from vacation, and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things on my blog. I will definitely be back to my regular posting schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Friday soon, but as we just arrived home yesterday, I'm currently recovering from a nasty head cold, and trying to catch up on the piles and piles of housework that ten days away generated, it might take me a few days to be able to do so. I definitely plan on sharing some vacation highlights with you all, and also share the haul of the various amazing things I brought back with me, but today I'm going to simply be sharing the books I'm currently reading. :) I definitely didn't read as much on vacation as I had planned to, but I am reading some pretty amazing books right now, and I hope this post inspires some of you to give these awesome books a chance. 1) Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare: I am honestly loving this book, despite the fact that it&

Books I'm Taking With Me On Vacation :)

Hey guys! It's Wednesday, but it won't be the usual Top 5 Wednesday Post on my blog today. Since I am leaving in a few hours for vacation, I decided instead to do today's post on the books I'm taking with me on vacation. I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to be heading back to Disney World, as it has been two years since we were last there. I am planning on hopefully still doing a post or two while we're there, but it will honestly just depend on how busy we are. I will definitely be posting on both Twitter and Instagram though, and if you want to follow along, I'm @preppybookqueen on both! I can't wait for this vacation to start, but first I'm excited to be sharing the amazing sounding books that are coming with me! 1) Legacy Of Secrets by Ridley Pearson: It seemed totally fitting to take the new Kingdom Keepers novel along with me to read. After all, where is a more perfect place to read a novel about the Disney theme pa

Disney Princess Book Tag :)

Guys, I'm GOING To DISNEY WORLD THIS WEEK! I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to be headed to my favorite place with my favorite person, and I can't wait to get there and let the fun begin. I'm not sure how my blog is going to go while I'm there, as I don't think I'll have the time to do my regular three posts a week, but I do hope to at least touch base on here while I'm there. I will have one more post after today, on Wednesday, where I will be sharing all the great books I'm taking with me on vacation, but today's post is going to be another tag to get me even more into the Disney spirit, and that is The Disney Princess Book Tag! This particular tag was created by Of Stacks And Cups at:  http://ofstacksandcups.blogspot.ca/2015/04/the-disney-princess-book-tag-my-first.html I can't wait to take part in this particular tag, so let's go ahead and get started! August 2016 Wrap Up

Hello All My Fellow Readers :) I may be stating an unpopular opinion here guys, but honest to goodness I'm so glad to see summer come to an end. Fall has always been a time of the year that I've loved, but with how crazy work has become over the last few summer's, and me not dealing so well with extreme heat anymore, I can honestly say that Fall has become my new favorite season. Today I'd like to share with all you guys my August 2016 Reading Wrap Up! I discovered some amazing, and perhaps some not so amazing books this month, and I'm here today to tell you all about them. One Star Books: Thankfully August was a month with no one star books for me! I love when that happens! Two Star Books: Fire Study by Maria V Snyder: While I had many up and down feelings about the first two books in this series, and I had read horrible reviews about this one, I decided to go ahead and read it anyways, and honestly, I kind of wish I hadn't wasted the time.
