Review: A Will, A Way and A Wedding by Melody Carlson

Hello Fellow Readers:)

I hope everyone is having a great week, and is getting ready for the weekend.

I haven't been featuring too many reviews on my blog lately, and sorry to say, that's mainly because I haven't actually read that many books in the last couple of weeks, with vacation and whatnot.

However, a couple of days ago I did have the opportunity to finish a book that was a highly anticipated read for me, and I'm excited to be reviewing it on my blog here today.

As I'm sure you can already tell from the post title, that book is: A Will, A Way, and A Wedding by Melody Carlson.

Source: Library

Publisher: Whitefire Publishing

Synopsis:

As Daphne begins making reluctant plans to let Aunt Dee's house and life go and pick up the pieces of her fractured life, the guy she's been dreaming about begins to change his tune. Of course, another huge obstacle pops up at about the same time, threatening to ruin what might finally be true love. Meanwhile, she continues writing the advice column, learning more about love and commitment than she ever thought possible. But will she cinch the deal in time?

Review:

I had mentioned many times previously on my blog, just how much I enjoyed the first three novels in the Dear Daphne series, and I couldn't wait to jump into this one, and see how Melody Carlson chose to wrap up this sweet, heartwarming series about a New York reporter who returns home to follow the unexpected terms of her late great aunt's will, and meets a quirky cast of characters along the way that help her fall even more in love with her hometown.

I was curious as to how the author would choose to conclude this series. If we would see Daphne find her happily ever after, in time to inherit her aunt's estate, or if she would learn that God had a different plan for her life. I definitely don't want to spoil the ending for anyone, but I can honestly say that I was left feeling completely satisfied with how everything was wrapped up, not just Daphne's story, but also those of Jake, Ricardo, Sabrina, Mick, and the various other characters I'd come to love during the course of reading this series.

As a reader, I really enjoyed watching Daphne learn to trust God for her life and happiness, even if she wasn't necessarily getting the answers she wanted.

In conclusion, I thought this was a beautiful wrap up to this amazing inspirational series, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I gave this book four out of five stars, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet, contemporary inspirational series. I've come to expect great things when I pick up a Melody Carlson book, and this one definitely didn't disappoint!

Thanks so much for reading guys! I definitely hope to have more reviews coming soon, and to also be back to my regular updating schedule shortly.

Hope you all have a great weekend :)

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...
