Dreams Rekindled by Amanda Cabot Review

 Happy Friday Friends :)

I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I have to be honest and state that I've had a little bit of a trying week. I've been dealing with some stress over a few things, my hubby has been under a lot of additional work stress, and I'd started to notice that we had a weird smell in our laundry room. Once my hubby checked it out, he realized that our water heater had started leaking, and so yesterday we had to get a brand new water heater installed. On top of that, there's been some more scary news about the COVID situation in our province, and sigh sometimes it just seems like life is too much.

I'm thankful every single day that I have the Lord to turn to through each and every difficult situation, and I'm trying to just keep on going, and looking on the bright side of things as much as possible.

Like for instance, the fact that I can't wait to share today's review with you all from a  recently published title by a new to me author.

My Review:

Dreams Rekindled is a beautifully written historical novel from an author that had been on my list of authors to try for quite some time. I appreciated the fact that I didn't need to have read the first book to be able to follow this one, and I truly adored Dorothy and Brandon's story from start to finish.

The reader sees such growth in both of these characters over the course of the story, and I loved how they both tried so hard to be selfless and true reflections of the Lord's love no matter the circumstances. Dorothy wants her voice to be heard in print, and she's willing to work hard to make it happen. However, she never neglects her familial responsibilities or duties to do so, and I loved how she values her faith, family and friends over her own wants and desires. Brandon has been through so much, but he's determined to keep on working to achieve his dreams, and I truly adored this couple.

Mesquite Springs enters a time of gossip and slander towards some of its most beloved residents, and it was refreshing to see two young people determined to speak truth in love, and showcase to their town how wrong their harsh opinions are. Brandon and Dorothy want to speak the truth in their paper, but they refuse to do selfishly, or to use the paper for their personal vendetta's, and that was probably one of my favorite moments of the story.

I'm honestly sorry that it has taken me this long to pick up a novel by Amanda Cabot, and I can guarantee it won't be my last. I plan to read the first book in this series in the very near future, and I'm very much looking forward to reading the third and final book when it releases.

Dreams Rekindled is a heartwarming story that reminds readers to stay close to Jesus, and to never give up on their dreams. Where God is there's always a way, and my first experience with an Amanda Cabot novel was a pleasant one that I won't be soon to forget.

I highly recommend this Christian historical romance to any Christian fiction readers. Go ahead and pick this one up. You'll definitely not regret it.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Revell for allowing me to read and review this!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher (Revell) as part of the Revell Reads Blogger Program. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters I'd name a child/cat/dog/car/ etc After.

Happy Tuesday guys! I enjoyed Top Ten Tuesday so much last week, that I decided to go ahead and take part again this week. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish, and here's the link to the main page if you're interested in becoming a part of it: http://www.brokeandbookish.com/p/top-ten-tuesday-other-features.html Today's topic is: Ten Characters I'd Name A Child/Cat/Dog/Car/ etc After, and I think it's going to be a really fun one. First, Characters I'd Name a Pet after: 1) Katsa from Kristin Cashore's Graceling: I have to start with Katsa, since it is actually what we named our adorable black and white kitten almost a year ago. She's grown so much since this picture, but this was taken right after we decided on her name. We tried several different book characters, but Katsa is the one she loved right away, and so is what we ended up going with. 2) Rose from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academ...
