Top 5 Wednesday: Rainy Day Reads

Hello all my fellow readers :)

It's once again time for a Top 5 Wednesday Post, and I can honestly say that I am extremely excited for all of the April 2016 topics.

This week's topic is: Top 5 Rainy Day Reads.

To anyone who doesn't know me, curling up with a book in comfy, lounge clothes, and a cup of tea, is my absolute favorite thing to do when the weather is dreary outside. There's something about curling up in my favorite chair, by my favorite window, that's even more comforting with the addition of raindrops hitting the windowpane. As such, there's many, many books I could have included on this list, and it was hard to pick only five favorites, but here are my picks for the five books that I always seem to want to read when it's rainy outside:

1) Twilight by Stephenie Meyer:

I have honestly read Twilight more times than I could probably count, and yet it is still my absolute, favorite book to curl up with when it's raining or snowing outside. While I often don't reread the entire series when I do read it, I always seem to enjoy curling up with this one again and again.

2) Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins:

It's no secret that this is my all time favorite book, and that I could literally read it anywhere, and anytime, but I especially love reading it when it's raining outside. I think the fact that it's set in Paris just goes so well with a rainstorm, that it just makes it that much more magical to me when I reread it.

3) The Cedar Cove Series by Debbie Macomber:

This is honestly another series that I can't count how many times I've read it. It's such a comforting book series, full of small town happenings, delicious food, and delightful characters, and all of this becomes even more comforting with the addition of gross weather outside. Debbie Macomber is one of my all time favorite authors, and this series remains my absolute favorite by her.

4) Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

I fell in love with Little Women from the first time I read it when I was eight. Ever since then, it's become one of my favorite books to read over and over again, and once again, is a book that becomes even more comforting to read when it's raining outside.

5) Magnolia by Kristi Cook:

Lastly, Magnolia is my fifth pick. I love love love the romance story in this book, and it has my favorite opening line to a book ever! However, because a great deal of this book focuses around a storm system that traps the two main characters together, I love reading it even more when it's raining, or storming outside.

Those are my Top 5 Rainy Day Reads. :)

I can't wait to read everyone else's picks!

Thanks for reading everyone, and I'll be back on Friday with a new book review.

  1. This reminds me. I have an illustrated version of Little Women. And it's gonna rain for the coming 2 days. I know what I'll be reading then!

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: All's Fair in Love and Cupcakes

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you've all had a great week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend. Today I'm excited to once again be linking up with Hoarding Books for First Line Friday. First Line Friday is one of my favorite weekly memes, and it simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading. I've had a lot of extra reading time on my hands lately because of all the social distancing, and as such, I've been able to read a lot of the titles that have been sitting on my shelves for quite some time. Today's book is one of such titles, and I'm happy that I finally found the time to get to it as I'm really enjoying it so far. All's Fair in Love and Cupcakes by Betsy St. Amant: About the Book: Kat inspected rows of the same old cupcakes. They seemed to blink back at her, as if they knew she was capable of so much more. Kat Varland has had enough of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. At twenty-six years old...
