Happy Monday Everyone :) I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Mine was actually not too bad. I finally started feeling better on Saturday afternoon so I was able to make up some time at work, and then Sunday I was able to enjoy church and lunch out with my aunt and cousin which is always a treat. And to top it all off, my hubby and I went to do some Christmas shopping late last night which was definitely a nice way to end the weekend. I have another review for you all today, which is mainly due to the fact that I read so many books during the days that I was at home sick that I have quite a few reviews to catch up on posting. I've read several of Max Lucado's books previously that I've definitely really enjoyed, so I was looking forward to curling up with The Christmas Candle and seeing if I ended up liking it as much as I had his other novels. Happy Black Friday Everyone! Are any of you braving the busy stores today to get a jump on your holiday shopping? I will most definitely not be doing so. I'm still fighting off this nasty cold, and it's my husband's birthday, so if I partake in any Black Friday shopping this year it'll be the online kind. And honestly, I always enjoy online shopping more anyways. It's crazy to think that Christmas is a month away from tomorrow, and I'm now even more thankful that I started my Christmas shopping back in July. I only have a little bit more to get done, and then I can spend December getting other things ready, working on Blogmas posts, and spending quality time with my friends and family. Mine hasn't honestly been the greatest as I'm still fighting off this nasty cold, but I guess on the positive side it's given me lots of time to catch up with my neverending TBR Pile. Happy Monday Everyone! This last week has been so crazy busy, that I was honestly worried I wouldn't have time to do any book reviews for my blog. Last Tuesday I had a big work meeting to organize, I came down with a nasty cold, I had a bunch of training sessions I needed to try and get finished, and our staff Christmas party is coming up in a couple of weeks, and this is my first year organizing it. All in all, I feel like I've barely had a spare moment to breathe lately, and when I have, I've been trying to get a chunk of my Christmas shopping done, and give my house a much needed deep cleaning. Whether it be inspirational, adult fiction, contemporaries, young adult...you name it, I generally love it as long as it's Christmas themed. It's Wednesday today, and I'm feeling kind of philosophical. This post is going to be quite different from my usual bookish content, but I really feel that it's something I want to go ahead and share with you all. As a child growing up in church, I remember consistently hearing about "serving," "being a light," "being an example," and "always giving to others." And as I grew into a teenager and a young adult, these were terms that began to take on new meaning to me, and I think I finally started to realize just how important they truly are. After all, the Bible is full of verses telling us to be a blessing to those around us, like Proverbs 11:25 "The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped." Happy start to another week everyone :) I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was a little uneventful as we got soooo much snow over the course of it that, other than for work, I actually didn't leave my house. And in the process of doing so, I had a really nice relaxing weekend at home with my hubby getting housework done, catching up on my TBR pile, and streaming many episodes of Riverdale on Netflix.
