Spring Book Haul 2018

Happy Monday Everyone :)

I'm so excited that spring is finally showing its face here! We've finally been having some gorgeous temps, and it's much appreciated. However, I know better than anyone to get my hopes up as our crazy Saskatchewan weather may change at a moment's notice.

In the meantime though, I'll be soaking up the sun while curling up with some of the amazing new books I've picked up during the last couple of weeks, and I'm excited to share those books with you all today.

It's actually been quite awhile since I last posted a book haul, and that's simply because I hadn't really bought any books since my birthday. I was kind of on a self-imposed book buying ban, and I find I always appreciate book shopping even more after I come off of such a ban.

Here's the goodies I picked up:

First things first, I had enough plum points from Indigo to cash in for a twenty dollar redemption, and I decided to pick up Cascade by Lisa T Bergen, and The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson. I've already read and loved both of these, and it was awesome that I only had to pay about eight dollars out of pocket to buy both of them.

Next I visited our local charity used bookstore, and found a couple of inspirational fiction titles that I decided I needed to bring home with me. I purchased Lonestar Secrets by Colleen Coble, which I've already read and reviewed on my blog here, and then The Scent of Lilacs by Ann H. Gabhart, which I have not read yet and I'm looking forward to doing so.

And lastly, I had really been wanting to purchase a Penguin Classics box set of all of Jane Austen's novels, and of course, once I ordered it from Indigo I got an email stating that they'd had to cancel my order as they no longer carried the item. I've been unsuccessful at finding that particular box set anywhere else, so instead, I went ahead and bought a few more of the ones that Coles has on their shelves regularly.

I've only read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen so far, and I'm determined to change that as soon as possible. I adore her writing, and I can't wait to fall in love with more new-to-me stories by her.

And that's all the books I picked up on my last book shopping binge! Thanks so much for reading guys! I hope you all have a great rest of your day.

This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The photos were taken by me, and belong to me.

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
