First Line Friday: Remembering the Cowboy by Mandi Blake

Happy Friday Friends :)

There's so many reasons I'm excited that it's once again Friday. I'm excited to be taking part in another edition of First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books, but I'm also excited to be featuring one of my favorite author's new releases for this week's edition.

First Line Friday simply consists of sharing the first line from the book you're currently reading, and today I'm going to be sharing from Mandi Blake's new book, which released last week.

Remembering the Cowboy by Mandi Blake:

About the Book:

They have unfinished business. She just can’t remember what it is.

Camille Vanderbilt is headed back home to Wyoming with one goal: find her old best friend and give him a piece of her mind for ghosting her six years ago. She won’t let anyone stand in her way… until a deer runs into the road and causes her to wreck and forget almost everything.

Noah Harding lives a simple life as a firefighter and rancher until Camille crashes back into his life. When a call at the fire station sends him to save his old best friend’s life, he thinks he might get a second chance until her influential stepdad gives a reminder that his old threats still stand.

When Camille runs into Noah in town, she knows he’s important to her, but her memories are still fuzzy.

Noah is hesitant to get close to her when it means having to sacrifice everything to be with her.

She thinks it’s a new beginning, but he knows it shouldn’t have ever ended.

When the threats are carried out, who will be left hurting at Blackwater Ranch?

Remembering the Cowboy is the first book in the Christian Blackwater Ranch series.

My Thoughts:

I've loved every book that Mandi Blake has ever written, and Remembering the Cowboy was not an exception. I loved how this one focuses around a second chance romance with a twist-the female protagonist (Camille) loses her memory, and doesn't remember the man who broke her heart, Noah. On top of the romance being sweet and heartwarming, this one has a really strong faith message of grace and redemption, and a beautiful, ranch type setting. It's definitely one of my favorites by Mandi to date, and you can check out my full review here.

First Line:

"Camille Vanderbilt was back in Wyoming on a mission: find Noah Harding."

What book are you currently reading? Be sure and leave the first line in the comments, and then hop on over to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating this week.

Have a great rest of your weekend, and I hope you find some time to curl up with a fantastic read! :)

  3. Happy Friday! I've been in the mood to read my old Victorian novels, so my first line is from "St. Elmo" by author Augusta J. Evans. This is not the actual first line, but one that I like for how descriptive it is:

"Until her wild song waked echoes among the far-off rocks, the holy hush of early morning had rested like a benediction upon the scene, as though nature laid her broad finger over her great lips, and waited in reverent silence the advent of the sun."

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
