The Lady of Galway Manor by Jennifer Deibel Review

 Happy Wednesday Friends :)

I pray this week finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

If you happened to notice, I was actually absent from my blog on Monday which isn't usual for me. I'd talked last week about the crazy stuff going on at work, and how my hubby and I both ended up working a lot of extra hours, including having to cancel all the plans we'd made for my birthday.

So because of all the craziness, when we finally came to a couple of days off, my hubby ended up booking us into a room at the mineral spa from Sunday to Tuesday, and it was a much needed break. I got to soak in mineral waters, eat yummy food, read until my heart's desire, and spend some much appreciated quality time with Neil.

I made the executive decision to take a day off of my blog to give my full attention to Neil and enjoying vacation, but I'm definitely happy to be back today to share with you all about an amazing read that I had the opportunity to finish while I was gone.

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to read Jennifer Deibel's debut novel, and I loved it.

You can check out that review below:

A Dance in Donegal

Ever since reading that amazing story, I've been looking forward to her next release and I recently had the chance to read it.

Keep reading below to find out if it lived up to my expectations.

The Lady of Galway Manor by Jennifer Deibel:

Publisher: Revell

Publication Date: February 1st, 2022

Genre: Christian Fiction/Historical Fiction

Synopsis:

In 1920, Annabeth De Lacy's father is appointed landlord of Galway Parish in Ireland. Bored without all the trappings of the British Court, Annabeth convinces her father to arrange an apprenticeship for her with the Jennings family--descendants of the creator of the famed Claddagh Ring.

Stephen Jennings longs to do anything other than run his family's jewelry shop. Having had his heart broken, he no longer believes in love and is weary of peddling the ÒliesÓ the Claddagh Ring promises.

Meanwhile, as the war for Irish independence gains strength, many locals resent the De Lacys and decide to take things into their own hands to display their displeasure. As events take a dangerous turn for Annabeth and her family, she and Stephen begin to see that perhaps the "other side" isn't quite as barbaric and uncultured as they'd been led to believe--and that the bonds of friendship, love, and loyalty are only made stronger when put through the refiner's fire.

Travel to the Emerald Isle for another poignant and romantic story from the enchanted pen of Jennifer Deibel.

My Review:

A Dance in Donegal was one of my very favorite reads of 2021, and I honestly couldn't believe it was Jennifer Deibel's debut novel. Ever since finishing it, I've been eagerly anticipating what she had in store next for her readers, and let me wholeheartedly state that The Lady of Galway Manor did not disappoint. A powerful story about love, faith, history and the great division that can often unfortunately exist between the classes, Jennifer Deibel has truly crafted a masterful story that will leave every reader on the edge of their seats.

As readers, we follow Annabeth and Stephen as they first meet under less than ideal circumstances. On opposite ends of a storm that is brewing between England and Ireland, neither end up being what the other is expecting. Feelings grow softly between our two protagonists, but so many obstacles stand in their way. Can they truly have faith that God will work all for good for those who choose to trust in Him?

Right from the beginning, The Lady of Galway Manor was a story that enraptured me completely, and I didn't want to have to set it down. I've never been someone who has been that interested in Irish history, but I was completely immersed in it here, and found myself wanting to know more and more about it. Perhaps my favorite part of all was the story being entwined with the history of the claddagh rings, and I loved how Annabeth manages to tie the ultimate sacrifice on the cross into the beautiful legend of these rings.

We may still be in early days into 2022, but I can still wholeheartedly claim that this one is more than likely going to end up being one of my favorite reads of the year. Jennifer Deibel is truly a masterful storyteller, and words become an enchanting form of art under her hand. I can't wait to see what she has in store in future stories, and I can't possibly recommend this captivating tale enough.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Revell publishing for allowing me to advance read and review this!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Revell) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I pray that you all feel the presence of our Lord strongly in your life this week, and I can't wait to share more book reviews with you all in the very near future.

God Bless!
