Happy Wednesday Everyone :)
Can you believe it's already the second week of August? Like literally summer is so close to coming to an end, and while that partly makes me happy as fall is by far my favorite season, it also makes me somewhat sad.
For the last few years I have to admit that summer and I have not been friends. Work's always crazy busy and thus it's hard to find time to do anything, we usually have our big fall Disney trip coming up so we're focused on saving money for that, and the weather is also not always cooperative.
Growing up I was one of those kids that adored every single minute of summer, especially spending the days in our camper at the provincial park near our hometown. There was nothing I loved more than being on the lake in our family's boat, or splashing in the waves at the beach.
However, ever since my dad sold our camper and our boat, it's almost like summer's failed to mean as much to me as it used to. This year for the first time since then I've found myself revisiting the provincial park that I loved so much growing up, and it's honestly helped me to remember why it was I loved summer so much back in those days.
This year while I'll be happy to welcome my favorite season (bring on the pumpkin!), I'm also sad to see summer come to an end as I've really found myself falling back in love with my childhood favorite season.
So one way to hang on to the beautiful days of summer is to participate in this fun book tag called the Summer Vacation Book Tag, which was created by Em at the Keystone Book Blog, and you can find her original post here.
I hope you all enjoy reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it :)

1) First Day Of Summer: A New Book You Have Been Dying To Read
Oh goodness there's so many amazing books I could honestly include in this category, but I think i'm going to have to go with Always and Forever Lara Jean by the fabulous Jenny Han. I adore all of her books, and I have yet to read this one. And is anyone else completely freaking out about the first book being made into a movie!!!
2) Beach Day: A Book That Leaves You Wanting More
The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight by Jennifer E Smith. This is hands down one of my all time favorite contemporaries, but I wish it had been an teensy bit longer and that we'd gotten a little bit more wrapped up at the end.
3) Portable Fan: A Book Where The Romance Is "On Point"
Crash Into You by Katie McGarry! I adore Rachel and Isaiah, and I seriously still get the chills whenever I re-read this one.
4) Slip and Slide: A Book You Were Excited For But Didn't Live Up To Your Expectations:
The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. I absolutely fell head over heels for Everything, Everything, and I literally couldn't wait to inhale this fabulous lady's second book. However, this book was not at all what I was expecting, and I had a hard time even staying focused long enough to finish it unfortunately.
5) Theme Park: A Fantastical Book That Transported You To Another World:
Once again, there's so many amazing ones I could choose from for this category, but I'm going to go with The Kiss Of Deception by Mary E Pearson. I could barely put this amazing book down, and I definitely need to get on with reading the rest of the series.
6) Thunder Storm: A Dark Book That Was Lit Up With Streaks Of Beauty
Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins. This book was a lot darker than I originally thought it was going to be, but I still ended up loving it thanks to the colorful cast of characters, and the swoon worthy romance developing between Sophie and Archer.
7) Visiting Friends: A Book Or Series That You Can't Get Enough Of:
I have to go with my all time favorite for this one, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. No matter how many times I read this book, it will never fail to put a huge smile on my face.
Thanks so much for reading guys! I hope you're all having a great week, and I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on summer ending.
I'll see you all again on Friday.
