A Second Christmas Wish by Kathryn Freeman Review

Hey Guys! I hope all of your week is off to a great start :) I really enjoyed getting to get away for a few days with my hubby, but unfortunately we came home to a sick kitty, and that's made the last few days not the greatest. However, there's nothing to cheer up bad circumstances like a good book, and with this blistery, cool weather we've been having lately, I was definitely in the mood for a Christmas read. And today I'd like to share what I thought about it with all of you guys :) A Second Christmas Wish by Kathryn Freeman: Publisher: Choc Lit Publication Date: November 1st, 2016 Source: Publisher via Netgalley  Synopsis: Do you believe in Father Christmas? For Melissa, Christmas has always been overrated. From her cold, distant parents to her manipulative ex-husband Lawrence, she's never experienced the warmth and contentment of the festive season with a big, happy family sitting around the table.  And Melissa has learned to li...

Happy Wednesday Everyone :) Thanks so much for joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess! A few weeks ago I had done a post on 5 Inspirational Reads I Just Added to my TBR List, which you can find here , and today I thought it would be fun to share another post since I recently just added a bunch more inspirational books to my list. The Christy Award nominees were recently announced, and browsing the finalists made my TBR pile grow substantially. There's just so many amazing sounding books in this year's categories. If you're unfamiliar, the Christy Awards honor and promote excellence in Christian fiction, and here's the link to this year's nominees , so you can check out all the amazing sounding books yourself. For today though, I'd like to share the five books that I'm most excited about reading after scrolling through this year's nominees.  1) The Red Door Inn by Liz Johnson: This is actually the only novel of the three nominat...

Happy Monday Everyone :) Thanks so much for joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess. It's officially fall, it's the start of another beautiful week, and I'm excited to be spending it with you all. I had a really good few days away with my hubby, and was so thankful for that quiet time we had together. This week I'm looking forward to decorating our home with all the lovely fall decor we picked up at Michael's while we we were gone, and I look forward to sharing some pics with you guys in a later post, once I get it all put up. For today's post I wanted to talk about inspirational recommended series for younger teenage girls. As a young girl, I devoured so many books it's honestly hard to even remember them all. I adored The Baby Sitters Club, The Baby Sitter's Little Sister, Sweet Valley, Sleepover Friends, Nancy Drew, The Saddle Club, Silver Blades..... honestly the list could go on and on. Howeve r, I absolutely loved reading inspirat...

End of Summer Book Haul

Hey Guys! Thanks for joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess! As we say goodbye to summer, and welcome in my all time favorite season, I thought it would be fun to share with you all the books I purchased during the last few weeks of summer.  First things first, I made another trip to my favorite used bookstore, and while I haven't had as much luck here the last few times as I used to, I still found some good books, and as always, I was happy to support our local animal shelter where all proceeds from book sales here go. Janette Oke was one of the first inspirational authors I ever read, but I actually have never owned too many of her books as our local library always had a huge collection of them, and so I always just borrowed them from there. I was excited to find a few of hers at the used bookstore this time though, and so I ended up grabbing When Comes The Spring and Once Upon A Summer. I kid you not, every single time I go to this bookstore, I check for...

Books I'm Taking With Me On Vacation

Happy Wednesday Everyone, and Thank You So Much For Joining Me Today on the Preppy Book Princess! I'm excited to say that while you're all reading this post, I'll actually be away for a few days with my hubby. To say I've been looking forward to this short trip would be a huge understatement! Neil and I have both been so busy the last couple of weeks, that we decided a few days away together to rest and relax were definitely in order, and it seemed only fitting that this coincided with our four year anniversary! In fact guys, I'm happy to say that today and tomorrow mark two very important anniversaries. First of all, on this day September 20th, back in 2015 is when I first started my blog! So today The Preppy Book Princess officially turns two years old! And I can't begin to describe how much these two years have meant to me. My blog has been a source of joy and inspiration for me through some pretty rough times, and I'm glad that I get to conti...

Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira Review

Hey Guys, I hope you're all having a great week :) Unfortunately, the last few days hasn't been the greatest experience for me personally, as I've been on the receiving end of some pettiness and negativity from a couple of the people I work with, and sometimes it's hard to feel motivated when you're dealing with everyone else's smallness. However, it has definitely inspired me to try even harder to always be nice as much as possible, and I definitely always want to try my best to shine a light and reflect Jesus as much as possible. For me personally, one of the things that always cheers me up when I'm feeling blue is my blog, and so today seemed like the perfect day to talk about a book that I'd been anxiously anticipating reading with all of you today! Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira: Source: Birthday Gift From My Hubby Publisher: Spencer Hill Publication Date: January 19th, 2016 Synopsis: In a perfect world, si...

Fall Time Cozy Time Book Tag

Hello Guys! It's finally Faaaaallllllllllllllllll!!!!!!! Okay, yes I realize that fall is not officially for another ten days or so, but honestly, in my opinion, once September rolls around it's basically fall and that's good enough for me. And today we're finally getting a break from the plus 30 plus Celsius weather outside, and it's cool, blistery, and basically the perfect fall day! I honestly can't even begin to tell you how excited I am that we're so close to my favorite season. I can't wait for pumpkin pie, apple cinnamon tea, riding boots, rain boots, comfy sweaters, leaves changing colors on the trees. Ahh I'm giddy just thinking about it. So it seemed only fitting that the best way to celebrate my excitement for fall, was to post a fall book tag! This particular tag is called the Fall Time Cozy Time book tag, and I first discovered it on Reading Is My Superpower. You can find her post here.  Let's jump right into these ...

Thinking Of Florida

Hey Guys! I pray this new week find's you all well in body and spirit, and I thank you for taking the time to join me today on the Preppy Book Princess. I wanted to step away from bookish content for this post, and instead focus on a place that's come to mean the world to me in the last seven years, and that of course is Florida! I've been so devastated to see the toll that Hurricane Irma has had all over the Caribbean, and I've definitely been keeping all the victims of this horrible tragedy in my thoughts and prayers. Normally, September/October would be the time that Neil and I would be journeying down to Orlando, Florida for that year's Disney World vacation, but we had decided at the beginning of this year that we wanted to try a "living below our means" year to pay off some debt, and as such, there would be no Florida vacay this year. Now, I'm not going to lie and say that I'm not thankful we're not there in the midst of al...
