#Friday Reads September 8th, 2017

Happy Friday Guys!!!

I can honestly tell you all that I'm so excited for it to finally be the weekend!!

We've had a lot of unexpected drama develop at work the last week, and it has a bunch of my fellow co-workers and myself super frustrated.

I'm looking so forward to having some time just to hang around at home and read this weekend, and so I thought it would be a perfect fit for today's post to participate in #FridayReads.

I haven't actually done one of these in a loooong time, but basically #FridayReads is a weekly meme hosted by the Petite Book Blogger in which you talk about what books you'll be reading over the weekend, whether or not you're enjoying them so far, and whether or not you plan on reviewing them once you're finished reading them.

Here's the book's I'll be reading this weekend:

Hold Me by Susan Mallery:

Hold Me is the sixteenth book in Susan Mallery's Fools Gold series, and while I'm not too far into it, I honestly don't have my hopes up too high. I've noticed a trend with this series that's become more and more apparent in the last few books, and it seems to be the same story line written over and over and over again. I did however really enjoy a few of the earlier ones so I'm hoping that this one will be an enjoyable read for me, but I probably won't be taking the time to review it on my blog.

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh:

I haven't actually started this one yet, but I'm fully expecting to love it after I was completely blown away by Flame in the Mist last month. I completely love Renee Ahdieh's writing style, and the painstaking research she puts into each and every one of her novels to ensure she's representing a culture properly. This one I still haven't decided if I'm going to be reviewing or not.

Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid:

I had the pleasure of meeting Adi Alsaid last year at RT Booklovers, and his debut novel has honestly been on my TBR list basically since it's release date in August of 2014. However after meeting him, I wanted to read it even more as he was so friendly and enthusiastic in person, but unfortunately I hadn't gotten around to reading it until now. I'd had so many people compare it to Paper Towns by John Green, and everyone knows I'm not a John Green fan in the slightest, so I'd kind of been a little leery on jumping into this one. However, I'm already about a third of the way done it, and I love it so far, and see no resemblance to Paper Towns in the slightest. I'm really hoping to get to review this one when I finish it.

Lizzy and Jane by Katherine Reay:

Katherine Reay has been an author I've been wanting to read ever since RT Booklovers last year, and I'm so glad I've finally gotten the chance to jump into one of her novels. I love how her novels adapt parts of Jane Austen's beloved works, and even though I've only read 70 pages into this one so far, I'm already completely hooked on it. Katherine's writing style is exactly what I was hoping for, and I love the vivid descriptions of everything Lizzy is whipping up in the kitchen. It's early to say, but I have a feeling this just might end up being a five star read for me, and I'm planning on reviewing this one on my blog.

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first.
