Christmas In July Readathon TBR List

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me today here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I have a different kind of post for you all today. For the first time ever, I'm participating in a readathon, and I couldn't be more excited about it.

A friend of mine on Instagram is hosting it, and it's going to be a Christmas In July themed readathon. You can check out her post about it here, and I invite all of you to think about joining in as I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun.

It's going to take place from July 20th (tomorrow) and end of July 27th. There's six challenges to try and complete, and I'm very much looking forward to trying to finish many of the holiday stories that have been on my TBR list for quite some time.

Today I want to share with you all of what books I plan on reading for each of the six challenges.

First, there is a challenge that everyone participating reads a certain book as a group, the host of the challenge picked.......

This is one I actually would have planned on reading for this readathon anyways, as I didn't get to it at Christmas time, and it was one I was really wanting to read.

The next challenge is a book with red or green on the cover, and for this one I picked:

My hubby gave this one to me for Christmas 2017, and I never ended up getting to it last year. I'm very much looking forward to finally reading it.

The next challenge is to read a warm and fuzzy book, and for that one I picked one that's been on my TBR list since it was first released:

I adore middle grade, and I think this one sounds so festive and adorable, and it's probably one of the books I'm looking the most forward to reading.

The next challenge says to read a short book, and I picked a novella for this one:

I don't know as much about this one, but I've heard really great things, and I absolutely love the beautiful cover.

The next challenge is to read a holiday themed book, and for this one I picked one that I put on my TBR list last Christmas, after heading such great things about it:

I'm hoping this one lives up to all the hype as I've heard so many other book bloggers say such great things about it.

And the last challenge is to read a book while listening to holiday music. I know I could have simply combined one of the other challenges with this one, but I decided to pick a separate book, and hopefully I'm up to the challenge of reading six books during the eight day readathon. The last book I chose was:

I have a very ambitious TBR pile for this readathon, and honestly I couldn't be more excited about it. My life's been hectic and extremely stressful the last few weeks, and I'm very much looking forward to unwinding with a pile of Christmassy stories, and participating in my first ever readathon! If any of you guys decide to join in, please let me know!

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here on Monday :)

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
