The Meaning in Mistletoe by Rachael Bloome Review

 Happy Saturday Friends :)

I hope all my American readers had a good Thanksgiving, even if it was probably different then in previous years.

You've all probably noticed that I haven't been around as much on here or on my social medias. I've mentioned the hard time I've been going through, and honestly I'm still really struggling. There's a part of me that feels like I shouldn't be posting on here or on social media when I feel like I'm such a mess and so broken, but then another part of me feels like we're all probably broken in some way and maybe my honesty about everything could help someone else. I've been listening to Matthew West's The Truth Be Told a lot in the last couple of weeks, and it's such an amazing song with an extremely powerful message.

I'm struggling to decide what to do, but I could really use your prayers for this battle in the meantime. If any of you are going through a hard time and also need prayers, don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'd love the chance to pray for anyone who needs it.

Anyways, long winded intro aside, I have a book review for you all today from one of my all time favorite author's upcoming releases.

My Review:

I've been looking forward to reading Jack's story ever since his character was first introduced, and it definitely did not disappoint. This charming Christmas story has everything you could possibly want in a holiday read, and I know it's going to be one I'll be rereading each and every Christmas season.

It's only been a year since Rachael Bloome first started publishing her books, but she has quickly become one of my all time favorite authors. I love how much heart she writes into her stories, and that each and every title is clean and never includes uncomfortable content. I also appreciate the fact that even though this series is about a group of friends, each character is individual and well developed, and never feels like she's writing the same type of character over and over again.

I really loved Kat in this story, and I felt I could sympathize with her pretty easily over everything she'd had to go through. On top of loving her sweet relationship developing with both Jack and the town of Poppy Creek, I also adored her budding relationship with the sister she never knew about, and how much that relationship comes to mean to them both. Likewise, there's so much more to Jack's story than just his romance with Kat; we also get to see his family dynamics and why they've caused him so much hurt over the years.

I can't recommend the fourth book in the Poppy Creek series enough, and highly suggest that you make reading this one a priority this Christmas season.

Final Rating: 5/5. There wasn't anything I didn't enjoy about this beautiful story, and I can't wait for book five.

Thanks so much to Rachael Bloome for allowing me to advance read and review this!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters I'd name a child/cat/dog/car/ etc After.

Happy Tuesday guys! I enjoyed Top Ten Tuesday so much last week, that I decided to go ahead and take part again this week. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish, and here's the link to the main page if you're interested in becoming a part of it: http://www.brokeandbookish.com/p/top-ten-tuesday-other-features.html Today's topic is: Ten Characters I'd Name A Child/Cat/Dog/Car/ etc After, and I think it's going to be a really fun one. First, Characters I'd Name a Pet after: 1) Katsa from Kristin Cashore's Graceling: I have to start with Katsa, since it is actually what we named our adorable black and white kitten almost a year ago. She's grown so much since this picture, but this was taken right after we decided on her name. We tried several different book characters, but Katsa is the one she loved right away, and so is what we ended up going with. 2) Rose from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academ...
