Publisher: Hawktale Publishing

Publication Date: October 5th, 2021

Genre: Adult Fiction/Contemporary/Women's Fiction

Synopsis:

From "A holiday publishing darling" (Entertainment Weekly) and Emmy Award-winning writer of Netflix's hit rom-com A Christmas Prince comes this heartwarming, feel-good Christmas romance about the power of believing in yourself to find your happily ever after...

A charming Christmas village, a storybook castle, a royal ball, and a gorgeous prince are the last things New York City reporter Kaylie Karlyle expects to find on her holiday freelance assignment to Europe. But when the family she's interviewing turns out to be the royal family of Tolvania, Kaylie has a meltdown when the quirky queen wants her to write a Christmas fairy tale for the spunky, young princess. Kaylie must battle the princess's father, who doesn't trust the media, and her own insecurities about writing anything beyond the news.

To spark inspiration for the fairy tale, the queen recruits the prickly Prince Alexander to show Kaylie the family's most spectacular royal holiday traditions. And sparks definitely fly when the only thing Kaylie and the prince agree on is that they're both more "bah humbug" than "ho, ho, ho."

But somewhere between sleigh rides and snow angels, merrymaking and mistletoe, upside-down Christmas trees, and a legendary Christmas crown, Kaylie and the prince open their hearts to Christmas and start believing in themselves and each other. It's a real-life fairy tale in the making until Kaylie discovers a secret about a royal Christmas heirloom that jeopardizes everyone's happily ever after. Can the magic of the season save this holiday happy ending?

Bonus Content: Includes delicious royal Christmas recipes and holiday activities.

A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale is an uplifting, inspiring Christmas romance that's filled with heart and hope and will appeal to fans of Debbie Macomber, Susan Mallery, and RaeAnne Thayne.

My Review:

I was honestly surprised with just how much I ended up enjoying this charming and sweet holiday themed romance, and it left me wanting to read more of this author's sweet Christmas stories.

There's something special about reading royal romances, but even more so when it's also a Christmas romance. This book truly captures so much of the beauty of Christmas, and reminds us all to reevaluate the importance of family and friends during the busy holiday season. Kaylie started out as a protagonist that I didn't immediately warm to, but she definitely won me over in the end. As she goes along experiencing the magic of Tolvania's many Christmas traditions, the things she thought were most important start to change, and the reader gets a firsthand view into the entire process.

The romance is sweet and even though it's definitely rushed, it never feels unbelievable or like insta lust, and I really enjoyed it. I loved the setting, and the way this entire book reads like a made for TV Christmas movie come to life on the page. It was definitely an added bonus having a few recipes included at the end, and I look forward to trying them closer to the Christmas season.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one, and would recommend it as a great choice to get yourself into the Christmas spirit. Charming, sweet, and fairly clean, it was a pleasant surprise and one that I can definitely see myself rereading during future holiday seasons.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Thanks so much to Hawktale Publishing for allowing me to advance read and review this.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Hawktale Publishing) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Have a great rest of your day guys! Thanks so much for stopping by :)
