I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter

 Hello Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

Last year, I had an accident and ended up damaging my left hand. I basically went a couple of weeks without being able to use it too much, and it was not exactly the most pleasant of experiences.

Because of this, I ended up having some time off work that was definitely not expected, and I needed to find something to take up some up my time.

I decided to start rereading one of my all time favorite series that I hadn't read in quite a few years. After finishing the first title, I realized that I'd never actually reviewed any of the titles in that series on my blog, and I definitely wanted to change that.

So today I'm going to share my review for the first title in this much beloved series, and I hope you'll all keep on reading down below.

I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter:

Source: Christmas Gift from my Hubby

Publisher: Little Brown Books for Young Readers

Publication Date: May 1st, 2006

Genre: Young Adult Fiction/Mystery/Espionage

Series: The Gallagher Girls

Synopsis:

Cammie Morgan is a student at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, a fairly typical all-girls school—that is, if every school taught advanced martial arts in PE and the latest in chemical warfare in science, and students received extra credit for breaking CIA codes in computer class. The Gallagher Academy might claim to be a school for geniuses, but it's really a school for spies. Even though Cammie is fluent in fourteen languages and capable of killing a man in seven different ways, she has no idea what to do when she meets an ordinary boy who thinks she's an ordinary girl. Sure, she can tap his phone, hack into his computer, or track him through town with the skill of a real "pavement artist"—but can she maneuver a relationship with someone who can never know the truth about her?

Cammie Morgan may be an elite spy-in-training, but in her sophomore year, she's on her most dangerous mission—falling in love.

My Review:

The Gallagher Girls was one of my favorite series, but it had been a lot of years since I'd last read them. I was in the mood for rereading an old favorite, and this one definitely fit the bill. I was actually interested to see if I'd still feel the same this many years later, and I can definitely say that I ended up enjoying this one just as much this time around as I did the first time.

Probably my favorite part of this entire series is the wonderful setting, and the close bond that exists between all of the Gallagher girls. It's definitely different from anything I'd ever read before, and that was still my favorite part this many years later.

Compared to the later novels, this one isn't as much of a mystery, but it still sets up some important plot points, and getting to reread about Macey's introduction to the school, and Cammie falling for a "regular guy" was definitely an enjoyable experience

Final Rating: 5/5.

I continue to love this one, and I'm looking forward to continuing on with the rest of the series.

I also had the pleasure of reading the tenth anniversary edition this time around, and the bonus epilogue chapter was an added treat!

It's also pretty clean with only a couple of miniscule content pieces, and it comes highly recommended from me.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...
