Love Finds You in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts by Melody Carlson Review

 Hello Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to join me (Kirby), here on The Preppy Book Princess today.

If you're a fellow lover of Christian fiction, then I'm guessing you're probably at least a little familiar with the multi author Love Finds You series that were all the rage awhile back.

There's quite a few of these titles in the series, and I've enjoyed getting to read a few of them as it's fun getting to visit many of these places that I've never (yet) had the opportunity to visit in real life.

I've recently learned a bit more about Martha's Vineyard, and I've been kind of fascinated by it. When I learned that one of the titles of this series is set there, and it happened to be written by Melody Carlson, who's one of my favorites, I knew I needed to give it a try.

Keep reading down below to find out what I ended up thinking about it.

My Review:

I've enjoyed getting to read a few of the many titles in the multi author Love Finds You series, as it's always a fun experience getting to "visit" these many new to me places through the setting of each book. I was especially looking forward to this one, being as it has a Martha's Vineyard setting, and it's written by one of my favorite authors, Melody Carlson.

However, I'm going to say straight away that this book didn't end up being quite what I was expecting, and it's definitely not one of my favorites of the series. While I thought the overall idea of the story was cute, and I enjoyed the fact that the story touches on some deeper elements, it just felt like something was missing.

The romance was not very well developed, and our main male protagonist, Blake, actually spends more time with the other lady (Janice) in the story than he does with the main character (Waverly). Waverly and Blake barely have any moments that would lead the reader to feel invested in their romance, and because of this, it just ended up feeling awkward and unrealistic.

The majority of the characters came across as flat, and I didn't see enough of a change in any of them to become truly invested in their stories. While the ending had promise, it was incredibly rushed, and the change I was hoping to see just wasn't there.

Lastly, I was pretty disappointed in this being marketed as "Christian fiction", when the faith element was pretty weak and unauthentic. A talk is made between Blake and his daughter about Heaven, but that was much pretty much the extent, and I found that incredibly disappointing.

Overall, it's a pretty squeaky clean small town romance that's got a beautiful setting and an interesting set up for the plot. However, I didn't find the romance or characters to hold my interest, and this definitely is not my favorite titles in this series or by this author.

Final Rating: 3/5.

I would personally recommend other titles in the Love Finds You series over this one, but you might still enjoy it if you're looking for a clean contemporary romance with a Martha's Vineyard setting.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
