Only the Good Spy Young by Ally Carter Review

Good Morning Bookish Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to join me here on The Preppy Book Princess for another book review.

Unfortunately, as I announced previously, this will be my last post on here for a month. I'm dealing with some medical circumstances, and as such, I need to take a little hiatus from the reading and reviewing world. I look forward to coming back though, so keep an eye out in the second week of May for more book reviews!

Now let's jump right into today's post.

At the end of 2022, I decided to embark on a reread of one of my all time favorite series, The Gallagher Girls by Ally Carter.

It's been such a special experience getting to revisit these wonderful stories and characters, and I've been very much enjoying my reread.

Since I'd never reviewed these books on my blog the first time around, I've been enjoying doing so this time, and you can check out my reviews of the first four titles in the series using the links below:

Now keep on reading down below for my full review of the fourth book in the series.

Only the Good Spy Young by Ally Carter:

Source: Christmas Gift from my Hubby

Publisher: Little Brown Books for Young Readers

Publication Date: June 29th, 2010

Genre: Young Adult/Contemporary/Spy Novel

Series: Gallagher Girls

Synopsis:

When Cammie Morgan enrolled at the Gallagher Academy, she knew she was preparing for the dangerous life of a spy. What she didn’t know was that the serious, real-life danger would start during her junior year of high school. But that’s exactly what happened two months ago when Cammie faced off against an ancient terrorist organization dead set on kidnapping her.

Now the danger follows her everywhere, and even Cammie “The Chameleon” can’t hide. When a terrifying encounter in London reveals that one of her most-trusted allies is actually a rogue double-agent, Cammie no longer knows if she can trust her classmates, her teachers—or even her own heart.

In this fourth installment of the New York Times best-selling series, the Gallagher Girls must hack, spy, steal, and lie their way to the truth.as they go searching for answers, recognizing that the key to Cammie’s future may lie deep in the past.

My Review:

I'm continuing to love getting to reread The Gallagher Girls, one of my all time favorite series. While every title in this series is fantastic, Only the Good Spy Young might just be my favorite of all. This book truly has everything you could ever want, and I'd actually forgotten so much about what happens from the last time I'd read it.

The mystery surrounding "the Circle" starts to intensify, and Cammie and her friends are determined to get to the bottom of everything once and for all. However, they weren't prepared to discover that one of their most trusted mentors might actually be a double agent, and that the circle's story is more sinister and nefarious than anyone could have ever predicted.

As tensions mount, these Gallagher Girls will have to figure out who to trust amidst running for their lives in their most challenging and dangerous case yet.

With Ally Carter's signature witty prose, likeable characters, and a mystery that will keep every reader on the edge of their seats, Only the Good Spy Young is truly a fantastic read. I enjoyed it just as much this time as I did the first time around, and I can't wait to continue on with rereading the next book in the very near future.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)
