Heart of the Home: Notes from a Vineyard Kitchen Revised and Expanded by Susan Branch Review

 Good Morning Sweet Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you've chosen to take the time to drop on by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review.

How has your week been going so far? Mine's been pretty good actually, and I'm thankful for the lovely time I've been able to spend with my husband and some of the rest of my family.

I'm not quite sure I've talked too much about this on my blog before, but I often feel that hospitality is one of my God given gifts, and I adore getting to entertain family and friends in our home, although we don't get as many opportunities to do so as I'd often like to.

Because I do love entertaining, I also love reading cookbooks and/or entertaining and homemaking titles.

I've reviewed a couple of Susan Branch's previous titles on my blog, which you can find using the links below:

Christmas from the Heart of the Home

Today, I'm looking forward to sharing with you all another one, and I hope you'll keep on reading down below for today's full review.

My Review:

Heart of the Home: Notes from a Vineyard Kitchen is another charming and aesthetically pleasing cookbook by Susan Branch. While I've found the other couple of books I've picked up by her to be kind of hit and miss, this one was a true delight, and I've already tried a couple of the amazing sounding recipes included within.

Her beautiful illustrations go nicely with the varied recipes she's included within, and I love how so many would be the perfect dishes to whip up if you happen to have company coming over. Most of the recipes seem simple to make, but look delicious, and it's enjoyable that she included a section for every single meal plus desserts and appetizers and entertaining tips.

My one complaint with this book is the same thing I've mentioned with some of her previous titles, and that is the fact that the font that some of the book is written in is hard to decipher, and makes some of the recipes a little bit more complicated to follow.

Overall, however, this is a wonderful book for anyone who is enthusiastic about creating a welcoming home with delicious dishes to prepare for family and friends, and I'd definitely recommend picking it up if you get the chance to do so.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: The Joy of Falling

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you've all had a great week, and that you've had time to curl up with some great books. This week, Lindsay Harrel's newest book released, and I loved it when I had the chance to read and review it. I'm excited to feature it for this week's First Line Friday post which is hosted by the lovely ladies over at Hoarding Books. First Line Friday: All's Fair in Love and Cupcakes

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you've all had a great week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend. Today I'm excited to once again be linking up with Hoarding Books for First Line Friday. First Line Friday is one of my favorite weekly memes, and it simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading. I've had a lot of extra reading time on my hands lately because of all the social distancing, and as such, I've been able to read a lot of the titles that have been sitting on my shelves for quite some time. Today's book is one of such titles, and I'm happy that I finally found the time to get to it as I'm really enjoying it so far. All's Fair in Love and Cupcakes by Betsy St. Amant: About the Book: Kat inspected rows of the same old cupcakes. They seemed to blink back at her, as if they knew she was capable of so much more. Kat Varland has had enough of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. At twenty-six years old...
