Genre: Clean Romance/Contemporary/Christmas Read

Series: Port Chance

Synopsis:

With the holidays approaching, Sadie Wendell fights the melancholy of experiencing another Christmas alone. She loves caring for injured animals at her wildlife rehab center, but it doesn’t fill the void she still feels years after a bitter divorce. Even taking on a new business partner to stave off money troubles isn’t the distraction she needs. Then her partner’s brother walks into the rescue in the midst of a squirrel catastrophe, turning Sadie’s dismal holiday season upside down.

Hayes Kelley vows to make the best of being laid off from his job, and working alongside Sadie at Furever Friends Rescue while helping his sister recuperate might be an unexpected gift this holiday season. Trouble is, he’s convinced Sadie feels his presence around the property is like finding coal in her stocking.

When a patron proposes a fundraiser for the rehab center, Sadie reluctantly accepts Hayes’ help. Can he convince her that their temporary partnership might be a second chance at love to heal her heartbreak before his time runs out in Port Chance?

This heartwarming Christmas novel revisits the small-town charm of Port Chance, Iowa during the holidays. Dive into its pages to meet the characters who’ll feel like friends and the close-knit community like home.

My Review:

Christmas in Port Chance is a lovely, heartwarming holiday romance by one of the best voices in clean romance. D.E. Malone once again takes readers back to the idyllic community of Port Chance, and introduces us to Hayes Kelley and Sadie Wendell. A sweet romance that I never wanted to see end, I ended up loving this title, and it's another wonderful addition to the Port Chance series.

Sadie's had her heart broken in the past, and is unsure about trusting again, but there's something about Hayes that she also can't stop thinking about. Hayes has always been a little reclusive, but finds his heart wanting to reach out to his sister's business partner, even though she seems determined to keep him at arm's length.

A wonderful set up for a romance set during the Christmas period, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this lovely tale, and especially loved how the romance was slow burn and perfectly paced in a way that seemed realistic, especially considering Sadie's hesitation to fall in love again.

It was lovely to reconnect with previous characters from the series, and I especially loved the emphasis on wildlife rehabilitation and taking care of animals. This was definitely another winner in my eyes, and I love how this author never disappoints with her heartwarming romances.

Final Rating: 4/5.

I'd highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a clean holiday romance, and it works perfectly as a stand alone, so don't feel like you can't go ahead and pick it up if you haven't had the chance to read the previous books in the series.

Thanks so much to D.E. Malone for allowing me to read and review this title!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author as part of her street team in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
