Top 5 Wednesday: Authors You'd Want To Meet at Book Con and Book Expo America

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers!

It's time for another Top 5 Wednesday Post!

For anyone unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it's a weekly meme that was started by Gingerreadslainey on youtube, and is now being hosted by Sam from ThoughtsOnTomes. Here is the link to the goodreads page for anyone who's interested in joining, or just finding out more about it:

I can honestly say that I love the Top 5 Wednesday group. It always gives me something to look forward to in the middle of the week when everything else is dragging, and I love getting to know other book lovers, and hearing everyone's varying opinions on the many differing topics.

Speaking of topics, this week's is a super hard one, and that is: Author's You'd Want to Meet at Book Con and Book Expo America.

Obviously the line up for these two events is incredible, and it was really hard to narrow my choices down to just five. Since we did just get back from RT Booklovers, I didn't include any of the authors that I met there, (like the fabulous Richelle Mead), and instead I chose all authors who I personally have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, but it was still almost impossible to narrow my list down.

However, I did do it, and these are my final picks:

Ridley Pearson: I without a doubt need to attend a book event some year that Ridley Pearson is going to be attending. If you've ever read any of my previous blog posts, you've probably heard me mention just how much I love his Kingdom Keepers series, as it combines my love of Disney, with my love of YA/Middle Grade novels, and I can't even describe how much I would love the opportunity to meet him, and be able to tell him in person just how much I love his books!

Jenny Han: Next on my list would definitely have to be the fabulous Jenny Han. The Summer I Turned Pretty series remains one of my favorite series of all time, and I've continued to love every book that she has written since. I saw some footage on YouTube of a panel she had spoken on last year at Book Con, and I honestly think she just seems like such an amazing, and down to earth person, and I hope to have the pleasure of meeting her one day in the future.

Leigh Bardugo: Next on my list would have to be the author of one of my favorite supernatural/paranormal type books of all time, and that is the lovely Leigh Bardugo. She was actually at RT Booklovers, but she was mainly only participating in the Pop Up Signings, and honestly these things scared me after I saw how crazy and rude it made people behave, so needless to say,  I didn't get to meet her at that particular event, and I hope I still get to sometime in the future.

Marissa Meyer: The Lunar Chronicles is probably my favorite debut series of all time, and I would love to have the opportunity to meet the amazing woman in person who brought this series to life. I love how original her ideas and writing style is, and I'm anxiously awaiting the chance to pick up her new series as soon I can.

Morgan Matson: I absolutely adore Morgan Matson, and her writing style, and her books, and I will be forever jealous of the people that attended RT Booklovers last year, where she happened to make a guest appearance. I definitely hope for the chance to meet her someday soon, but until then I'll definitely be reading and rereading her novels. :)

Since there is so many amazing authors attending these events this year, I couldn't resist listing a couple of authors who I had a hard time debating on when I was making my list, and I'm considering them my Top 5 Wednesday "runners up."

And that would have to be: Tahereh Mafi and Ransom Riggs. I absolutely love all the books by these fabulous authors, and once again, I hope to have the opportunity to meet them in the future!

Thanks for reading everyone! I can't wait to see which authors everyone else chose. I also can't wait to read about everyone's experiences who are lucky enough to be attending these fabulous events!

This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

First Line Friday: Carolina Breeze

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all having a great week! Mine has actually been pretty good. We've had some really nice days, and my husband and I were finally able to put our garden in, and various flowers and the like. We've also had a couple of lovely, rainy days as well, and I love how green everything is looking in our yard right now. For today's post, I'm excited to once again be linking up with the lovely Hoarding Books  for another edition of First Line Friday. This fun weekly meme simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: A Sweethaven Romance

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you're all enjoying the last little bit of summer. Are you sad to see summer come to an end, or are you looking forward to fall? I personally love fall and it's my all time favorite season. However, I always find the changing of the seasons a tad bittersweet, although I'm very much looking forward to all the wonderful things fall brings with it. For today's post, I'm excited to be linking up again with Hoarding Books for another edition of First Line Friday. First Line Friday is a fun, weekly blog meme that simply consists of sharing the first line from the book you're currently reading. For the last little while, I've been trying to focus on reading the many books I've added to my kindle over the last couple of years that I'd never got around to reading, and I've discovered many amazing books in the process. Today's first line comes from the book I most recently started reading on my kindle. A Sweethaven Rom...
