Reader Problems Book Tag

Happy Friday Everyone :)

It's been awhile since I last posted a book tag, and I always really enjoy doing them. I happened to stumble upon the Reader Problems book tag which looked really fun, and so I decided to go ahead and do that one today.

1) You have 20,000 books in your TBR pile, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

If I have review books I always start with those first, then next I would read any library books I have checked out, and then I would go with whatever I'm in the mood for from my bookshelves.

2) You're halfway through a book and you're not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

Generally speaking, I finish it, but there have been some circumstances where I literally had to put it down as I couldn't possibly force myself to finish it.

3) The end of the year is coming and you're behind on your reading challenge. Do you try and catch up? And if so, how?

Typically I always try and catch up, depending of course on just how far behind I am. The best way I've found to catch back up is by reading novella length stories rather than full length ones.

4) The covers of a series you love do not match. How do you cope?

Ugh this is honestly one of my biggest bookish pet peeves. Generally I give in and buy them anyways, but I've also tried to find other editions at used bookstores or on Amazon and such.

5) Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

Usually my best friend Nikki! Her and I generally have similar reading tastes, and quite often we have the same issues with books so we end up agreeing a lot of the time.

6) You're reading a book in public and you're about to start crying. How do you deal?

Haha this has happened to me quite a few times. Usually I just let the tears come but wait until I'm back in private to have a real good cry over it.

7) The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you've forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

To be perfectly honest I almost never reread for this purpose. I might refer back to a couple of points in the first book, but generally I only reread for enjoyment, not to catch back up for a new release.

8) You do not want anyone to borrow your books. How do you politely say no when someone asks?

I am very fussy with lending out my books. Generally, only my hubby and my best friend are allowed to borrow from my shelves, with some other family members doing so occasionally. If anyone else asks, I let them know gently that I don't lend out my books as they mean too much to me.

9) You have picked up and put down five books in the last month. How do you get over the reading slump?

By turning to a release from one of my favorite authors, like Kasie West, who I know will definitely not disappoint me.

10) There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?

I usually end up buying new releases from my all time favorites, but I tend to use the library a lot other than that as in the case I'm disappointed with the book I don't have to worry about wasting money on a book that I didn't like. If I do end up loving it, then often I'll purchase a copy for my own shelves after I've read it.

11) After you purchase all of these books that you're dying to read, how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?

Yeah, I probably shouldn't even admit to how long I've left new releases sitting on my shelves for. It's often a long time from when I purchase to when I read, just depending on what other books I want to get finished first.

Thanks so much for reading today guys! I tag any of you who are interested in doing this tag.

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
