The Rancher's Unexpected Baby by Jill Lynn Review

Happy Friday Everyone :)

I pray that the New Year has been a positive start for you all so far.

I'm still working around what my word of the year for 2019 is going to be, but rest assured that once I decide for sure, you guys will be the first to know!

So far in 2019 I've read two books. One was not a positive experience, and I'll be sharing that review with you all shortly. However, the very first book I finished of 2019 I ended up loving, and I love when that happens as it starts your reading year off on such a good note.

Today I'd like to share with you guys my review for this lovely book, and so let's go ahead and get started!

My Review:

Book two in the Colorado Grooms series, The Rancher's Unexpected Baby was a delight from start to finish, and showcases just how talented of an author Jill Lynn truly is.

We were introduced to Emma and Gage as characters in the first book in the series, The Rancher's Surprise Daughter, and in this one they take center stage as the main characters. Gage is dealt a devastating blow when his best friend is killed in a plane crash. After his best friend (Zeke) lost his wife in childbirth he'd asked Gage if he could name him guardian of his baby boy, Hudson, if something we're to ever happen to him, but Gage never thought this would actually come to fruition. After being burned badly in his marriage when his wife chose to leave him for someone else, Gage is determined to never trust anyone with his heart again, and as such, feels like Hudson would be much better off with someone else. In the meantime though, his friend Luc's little sister Emma has volunteered to watch Hudson for him while he gets his usual work done around the ranch, and soon it's not just Hudson who's looking forward to her visits to the ranch everyday. Emma finds herself falling fast for this dynamic duo, and she's convinced that she can change Gage's mind about who's truly the best to raise Hudson. Emma and Gage are both going to discover that life changes in ways we never could have expected when we truly rely on God to reveal His best plan for our lives.

As much as I never thought it could be possible, I enjoyed this one even more than I did the first release in the series. Emma and Gage were both characters that had me truly emotionally invested in everything happening to them, and I love when characters are written so well that this happens for me. While Emma and Gage are both stubborn in what they believe is the right decision, they're both doing it out of what they truly believe is best, and neither ever comes across as selfish in the way they go about things. I love when a Christian author can truly write a romance with lots of romantic tension tied up in it without it ever comprising faith or morals or including content that shouldn't be in a Christian romance. Jill Lynn hits the ball out of the park with this one, as the reader can truly feel the romantic feelings developing between Emma and Gage, and yet she's able to keep it completely clean without making the romance ever feel boring or stale.

I highly recommend picking this one up if you're looking for a lovely Christian romance, a Christian western romance, a clean romance that will keep you glued to the page right until the very end, or a Christian romance that truly highlights how letting go and letting God is always the best decision.

Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My only complaint is having to wait too long for the third book now!

Thanks so much to Jill Lynn for providing me with a complimentary advance reader's copy to read and review!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not required to give a positive review.

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
