The Star Wars Book Tag

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you're all having a great week so far, and I want to thank you all for joining me here on The Preppy Book Princess.

As many of you are probably already aware, I really love doing book tags. There was a time when I was constantly posting book tags on my blog, but in the last little while I've gotten busier with book reviews and such, and as a result, I haven't really posted that many book tags.

Some of you also might not be aware that I truly love Star Wars. While I may not be an expert like many within the fandom are, I truly love the Star Wars world, and I've watched the movies multiple times, read a lot of the books, have a ton of merch, etc. etc. In fact, I cosplayed as R2D2 at the very first comic con type of expo I went to earlier this year, and my hubby and I were originally supposed to be visiting Disney World next month to see Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios. Unfortunately, work commitments came up, and we are no longer able to go this year, but I can't wait to see it whenever we do finally get to go.

So with my great love of book tags and Star Wars, I honestly cannot believe that I didn't know The Star Wars Book Tag existed. As soon as I found out about it, I knew I needed to participate on my blog ASAP.

This lovely tag was created by Joana and Elisabeth over on Youtube, and you can see their videos here and here. And was then expanded by Bia and Cass at B and C Books, and you can check out their post here.

1) R2D2

The lovable droid filled with sass. Name a series that made you laugh.

I'm going to go with The Bradford Sisters series by Becky Wade for this one. While I loved the fact that each book is emotional, heartfelt and clouded in mystery, I also appreciated the fact that each title was filled with bits and pieces of comedic moments that had me cracking up as I read each individual story.

2) Padme Amidala

Even though she's not a Jedi, she sure does kick some butt. Name a strong female character.

Brienna from The Queen's Rising. I loved how strong her character is, and how she's determined to fight for what's right even when it requires incredible sacrifice on her behalf.

3) Leia Organa

This girl gets herself into a rather strange love situation. Name your favorite or least favorite love triangle.

I'm not a fan of love triangles usually, so I have quite a few least favorites. The two that stand out the most though would be Maxon, America and Aspen from The Selection, and I was totally Team Maxon. And also Alex, Julian and Lena from Delirium, and in this triangle I was totally Team Julian.

4) Luke Skywalker

The last hope to restore The Jedi Order. Name a rising author, or a new to you author that you love.

Two authors come to mind, both of which I've discovered within this year. Mandi Blake, who writes incredible Christian suspense novels, and Rebecca Ross who writes immersive young adult fantasy novels.

5) Anakin Skywalker

A character whose morals changed over time. Name a series that started out well, but ended badly.

I adored The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski, and thought I was going to end up loving the entire trilogy. However, I didn't care for the second book nearly as much, and I was even more disappointed when I finally got around to reading the third. This trilogy has such potential, but it just didn't live up to my expectations.

6) Qui-Gon Jinn

Losing himself to a terrible fate. Name a character who suffers a tragic death.

SPOILER WARNING IN THIS ANSWER!!!!

Prim from Mockingjay or Tris from Allegiant. Both of these deaths affected me so harshly, and I still don't understand why either author chose to go in this direction.

7) Han Solo

Unsuccessfully using his wittiness to get himself out of sticky situations. Name your favorite sassy character.

I had to pick Caymen from The Distance Between Us by Kasie West for this one. I loved her sarcastic tendencies, and the back and forth banter that it causes between her and Xander.

8) Emperor Palpatine

A well constructed character in a vast universe. Name a series with incredible world building.

I'm going to go classic with this one and go with Harry Potter. I continue to be amazed by the immense and intricate world J.K. Rowling created within this series, and it continues to stand out despite how many amazing new books are published each and every year.

9) Obi-Wan Kenobi

Even though he is "to the book", he is a force to be reckoned with. Name a series that exceeded your expectations.

I'm going to go with The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross for this one. I'd read so many books lately within the fantasy genre that I'd been greatly disappointed in, and as a result, I wasn't expecting too much out of this one when I picked it up. I ended up being blown away with just how much I loved this series.

10) Master Yoda

A being containing so much wisdom. Name a series that taught you something or made you grow.

Without a doubt, The Chronicles of Narnia has to be my answer for this one. On top of it having great themes of family, friendship, and standing up for what's right; I love how C.S. Lewis put the Christian walk of faith into concepts that could be understood by children, and the visual picture it represented has stood with me since first reading these books as a child.

11) Darth Vader

Learning about how he became this man only made us love him more. Name your favorite villain.

I'm not quite sure what to put with this one as I quite often don't end up enjoying the villain in stories. However, I did really like Warner in the original Shatter Me trilogy so that's who I'm going to go with.

12) Chewbacca

Loyal to his friends, he's always got your back. Name your favorite fictional best friend.

So many choices to pick from for this one. I really loved the friendship that existed between the girls in The Babysitters Club and the girls in The Mother Daughter Book Club. However, if I'm going to go with one specific character, it would probably be Jacob Black from Twilight. I never liked him as a love interest for Bella, but I did love his friendship with her.

13) C3-P0

Despite his simple ways, he always get himself into trouble. Name a character who always needs saving.

I had a really hard time coming up with an answer for this one, but I'm probably going to go with Bella from Twilight. I love her character in the books, but she always seemed to get into situations where she had no choice but to be rescued from.

14) Boba Fett

Witnessing the death of his father must have been difficult. Name a character who went through a traumatic childhood experience.

Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles. I think her childhood had to have been one of the most messed up ones ever.

15) Rey

A scavenger who just happens to be "force sensitive." Name a character with a mysterious past.

Jake from the Alaskan Courage series by Dani Pettrey. I knew when the reader kept getting hints about his past in the earlier books that we were in for a whirlwind when his past was finally revealed.

16) Stormtrooper Finn

Questioning his future, he finally makes his own decision to change sides. Name a character who has questioned his/her morals.

Plutarch from The Hunger Games. I loved when his role in the rebel forces was revealed in Catching Fire.

17) Poe Dameron

An amazing pilot flying through hyperspace. Name your favorite series that travels through time.

The Ruby Red trilogy by Kerstin Gier. I loved the complex world building that exists within this series, and I remember the ending of book two completely blowing me away when I read it for the first time.

18) Kylo Ren

Obsessed with an idealistic view of his grandfather. Name a character who will stop at nothing to fulfill their destiny.

Rhen from To Best the Boys by Mary Weber. While this may not have been a favorite book of mine, I did really enjoy the way that Rhen's character is willing to do whatever it takes to receive the destiny she deserves.

19) Maz Kanata

Even though she's force sensitive, she's never trained in the ways of the Jedi Order. Name a character who doesn't rise to their full potential.

Maddy from the Immortal City series. I loved the first book in this series, and the potential that was shown in Maddy's character. Unfortunately, I ended up feeling like both the series and the character failed to live up to their potential.

20) BB8

Following previous droids is not an easy task, but he is loved by all. Name a sequel that you loved even more than the first.

I'm going to go with The Gallagher Girls series for this one. I honestly loved every single book in this series, and actually ended up liking a few of the later titles even more than I did the first books.

And whew, that's the end of the Star Wars book tag. I didn't realize just how long this tag actually was, but it was still a lot of fun, and I'm glad I chose to participate in it.

I tag any of you that are also fans of both Book Tags and Star Wars!

Thanks so much for stopping by today guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often.
