Hello Everyone :)
I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.
A little while ago, I shared with you all my review of Greenglass House by Kate Milford. I thought it was a really interesting middle grade read, and really ended up enjoying it for the most part. I was really looking forward to continuing on with the second book in the series, and after I finished reading it, I knew I needed to share my thoughts about it with you all.

My Review:
Fans of Greenglass House will be excited to once again visit the village of Nagspeake, and to see many of their favorite characters pop up once again in this fun and whimsical sequel to the beloved middle grade tale.
Greenglass House came across as such a charming setting in the first book, and I couldn't wait to dive into another story about this beautiful house, and the cast of characters who call it home or come to visit. This sequel has much in common with the original story, and it was a nice treat to get another visit with the Pines and their many bizarre visitors and co workers. In the first book, the reader was given a few peaks into the problems Milo's having with his adoption, and not knowing too much of his original heritage. I did really enjoy the fact that this is expanded upon in this installment, and that Milo's story is truly one that wrenches the heart, and makes you feel for this young boy and all that he's struggling to go through.
I have to be honest and state though, that I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first. I felt the story was a little too similar to the first book, and that it slightly failed at keeping me invested in the story. Also, while I love Kate Milford's extraordinary talents with the written word, I found she used too much info dumping throughout this story, and it made the plot seem redundant and lackluster. I especially found this to be the case for the portions where the Waits are first introduced, and their history and backstory are explained. Their were so many characters, and so much to process, and I just felt the plot got a little bit convoluted, and this affected my overall enjoyment of the story.
It's still an enjoyable read, and I'm still interested enough to continue on with the series. It just wasn't quite as amazing as the first book, and I'm hoping I'll end up liking the third a little more.
Final Rating: 3/5
Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day. :)
