Carolina Breeze by Denise Hunter Review

Hello Friends :)

I hope you're all doing well, and that you're staying safe and sound wherever you're reading from today.

My province is preparing to open up some businesses in the coming weeks, and I'm feeling extremely nervous about how it's all going to work out.

For my part, my hubby and I will be continuing to only go out when absolutely necessary, and choosing to stay home more often than not.

I have to say that I've been extremely grateful to have so many amazing books to choose from while I've been social distancing at home, and I've been blessed with just how many books from my most anticipated 2020 releases post that I've gotten to read in the last few weeks.

Today, I'm excited to share with you all another review for one of the books from this list, and it was another title that definitely lived up to all of my expectations.

Carolina Breeze by Denise Hunter:

Source: Publisher via NetGalley'

Publisher: Thomas Nelson

Publication Date: May 19th, 2020

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Romance

Series: Bluebell Inn Romance

Synopsis:

A jilted bride. A struggling innkeeper. And a romantic mountain getaway that changes everything.

Rising Hollywood star Mia Emerson is looking for a safe place to land in the wake of a public breakup and scandal, and she finds it in the lake town of Bluebell, North Carolina—the location of her canceled honeymoon. She wants nothing more than to hide and wait for the tabloids to die down.

Soon after her arrival at the Bluebell Inn, Mia meets Levi Bennett, who runs the inn along with his two younger sisters. Drawn to one another from the start, Mia trusts Levi to keep her location from the press, and Levi confides in Mia about the financial state of the inn—a secret he’s been keeping from his sisters.

When Mia and Levi discover an old journal that hints at a rare diamond necklace hidden in the inn, they set off on a treasure hunt to find the long-lost heirloom. What they don’t expect to surface are feelings they thought were safely locked away. Mia and Levi must decide if falling in love again is too big a risk—or if it will uncover a treasure of its own instead.

This Bluebell Inn romance takes us to a quiet North Carolina retreat that holds more secrets than it shares.

My Review:

After first being introduced to Levi's character in Lake Season, I really couldn't wait to read his story. I knew their was more to Levi than first meets the eye, and I couldn't wait to dive into his backstory, and the true reasons for him being so protective of his younger sisters. After finding out that this particular story was going to invoke one of my favorite tropes-the famous person falling for the regular person-I was even more excited to pick this one up and devour it.

I didn't think it was possible. but I'm starting to love the Bluebell Inn Romance series just as much as Denise's Summer Harbor series, which has always been my favorite. The setting is idyllic, the characters go through so much growth throughout, and I love how both titles have added a historical element that somehow ties to the beloved inn. Levi and Mia's story was just as enjoyable as Molly and Adam's was, and I loved how though neither of them was truly prepared for a romance to grow, they couldn't deny the simmering feelings that kept pushing to the surface.

I respected Levi's character even more after finishing this one, and his story is truly one that will pull at every reader's heartstrings. I knew it was going to take a special gal to steal his heart, and Mia was definitely up for the challenge. Her story was heartbreaking, and truly showcased the notion that no matter your age, the importance of having somewhere to belong is never truly diminished.

Denise Hunter has written another fabulous, swoon worthy romance that will leave readers everywhere waiting anxiously on the third and final title. I truly believe that Denise's stories just keep getting better and better, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us readers when Grace's story releases later this year.

I personally can't recommend this one enough, and I loved the way that the title ends up connecting to the rest of the story. I'm already wanting to go ahead and reread both books in this series now, and I know I'm definitely going to be doing that before the third book releases.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for the opportunity to advance read this!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy of this novel. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...
