Hello Friends :)
I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for joining me for another review here on The Preppy Book Princess.
I'm trying my hardest to get my blog back to its regular uploading schedule, but I'm not sure it's going to end up happening this week. My hubby and I are actually going away for my birthday in a couple of days and I'm not sure what the internet is going to be like. This may end up being my last post for the week and if so, I hope you all have a great rest of your week and I'll see you all again on Monday.
The Solid Grounds Coffee Company by Carla Laureano:
Source: Library
Publisher: Tyndale House
Publication Date: February 4th, 2020
Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary
Series: The Saturday Night Supper Club
Synopsis:
Analyn Sanchez can handle the long hours and arrogant clients that come with her job as a crisis management associate at Denver's largest publicity firm. The high-powered job, expensive condo, and designer wardrobe are all part of her plan to prove to her family that her life choices haven't been in vain. But when she's asked to cover up a client's misdeeds with serious moral and legal ramifications, she can no longer sacrifice her conscience for her career . . . and the cost is no less than her job.
Ever since a devastating climbing accident in South America eight months ago, and a bad decision that dried up his sponsorships, professional rock climber Bryan Shaw has found himself at similar loose ends. When the opportunity to buy a coffee farm in Colombia arises, he jumps on it--only to discover his wandering ways have left him utterly unprepared to run a business.
When Bryan returns home and offers Ana a role in his company as a solution to both their problems, she's desperate enough to consider working with the far-too-flippant and far-too-handsome climber, even though he's the polar opposite of her type A nature. As they delve deeper into the business, however, she begins to suspect there's much more to Bryan than she's given him credit for . . . and that sometimes the best plans are the ones you never see coming.

My Review:
I've been looking forward to reading Ana and Bryan's story ever since their characters were first introduced in The Saturday Night Supper Club, and it definitely lived up to all my expectations.
While I personally think that the second book, Brunch at Bittersweet Cafe, was the best of the three, I honestly enjoyed this entire series, and I'm sad to see it come to an end.
I loved how the focus on this one is on forgiveness and redemption, and how the emphasis is on finding this healing through Him and Him only. Ana and Bryan have a lot of past hurts to overcome before they can be in a truly healthy relationship, and I appreciated that the point was emphasized that you can't run from your troubles and instead need to deal with them before you can truly move on.
I appreciated the fact that The Solids Grounds Coffee Company gives the reader a better understanding of both Ana and Bryan, and I was actually quite surprised with some of the background info given on them both. Ana was never my favorite character in the first two books, but I came away from this one with much more respect for her, and I appreciated how Carla Laureano shows her more approachable side through the numerous things that end up happening to her.
Throughout this entire series, my favorite aspect was the beautiful friendship that exists between Ana, Melody and Rachel, and I loved the fact that while romance is definitely at the front and center, the friendship always plays an integral part of the story, and it was refreshing to see how these women supported and truly cared about each other.
The only part of this story that ended up being a negative for me was the fact that I thought the technical components of the coffee roasting process were a tad long winded and often hard to follow along. This is purely a personal opinion though as since I'm not a coffee drinker, I didn't find the "food" side of this one as interesting as I did in the first two books.
Overall though, I really enjoyed this one and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Final Rating: 4/5.
Thanks so much for reading guys! I hope you have all have a great rest of your day :)
