The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip by Sara Brunsvold Review

 Hello Everyone :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I've had an insanely busy few weeks as of late, and I'm actually extremely excited that I'm going to be heading out to the lake with some of my family later today.

I'm looking forward to swimming, spending time with my family, and curling up with some great reads.

Before I head off however, I wanted to jump on here and review a wonderful story that I recently had the opportunity to read.

I wholeheartedly enjoyed this one, and I hope you'll keep reading down below for my full review.

The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip by Sara Brunsvold:

Source: Publisher as Part of the Revell Reads Blogger Program

Publisher: Revell

Publication Date: July 5th, 2022

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary

Synopsis:

Aidyn Kelley is talented, ambitious, and ready for a more serious assignment than the fluff pieces sheā€™s been getting as a cub reporter for the Kansas City Star. In her eagerness, she pushes too hard, earning herself the menial task of writing an obituary for an unremarkable woman whoā€™s just entered hospice care. But thereā€™s more to Clara Kip than meets the eye. The spirited septuagenarian may be dying, but sheā€™s not quite ready to cash it in yet. Never one to shy away from an assignment herself, she can see that God brought the young reporter into her life for a reason. And if itā€™s a story Aidyn Kelley wants, thatā€™s just what Mrs. Kip will give herā€”but sheā€™s going to have to work for it.

My Review:

The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip is a book I probably wouldn't have usually chosen to read, but something about it intrigued me, and I wanted to give it a try. I ended up being so thankful I did, as this was such a wonderful story about faith and friendship, and how each of our true purpose on this earth should be to shine a light for our Lord and Savior.

I don't think I've ever read a book quite like this one before, and I applaud the author for writing such an original story, and keeping the plot engaging and entertaining throughout the entirety of it.

It was a refreshing change for me to find a contemporary Christian fiction title that wasn't a romance, and instead was all about faith and living for Jesus, and I adored Mrs. Kip right from the opening chapter. I loved her vivacious personality, and her desire to live life to the fullest, but most of all I admired her quest to live each and every day for the Lord, and encourage others along the way to do the same. The world needs more people like Mrs. Kip, and I know this character has greatly inspired me to live life more for Jesus, and less for myself.

I didn't connect with Aidyn's character right off the bat, but she definitely grew on me over the course of the story, and I definitely enjoyed seeing her character mature both emotionally and spiritually. She comes to Mrs. Kip only seeing her as a unwanted job assignment, but instead finds a friendship that touches her heart beyond what she could have imagined, and showcases to her what having great faith truly looks like.

Emotional, inspirational, engaging, and beautifully written, The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip is a touching and thought provoking read that I believe will have a huge impact on each and every reader who chooses to pick it up.

Final Rating: 5/5.

I can't possibly recommend this one enough, and I look forward to reading more from Sara Brunsvold in the future.

Thanks so much to Revell for allowing me to read and review this one!

I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher (Revell) as part of the Revell Reads Blogger Program. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Thanks so much for reading everyone! I pray you all have a great rest of your day, and I'll be back with another book review to share with you all on Friday.

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all having a great week! Mine has actually been pretty good. We've had some really nice days, and my husband and I were finally able to put our garden in, and various flowers and the like. We've also had a couple of lovely, rainy days as well, and I love how green everything is looking in our yard right now. For today's post, I'm excited to once again be linking up with the lovely Hoarding Books  for another edition of First Line Friday.   Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you've all had a great week, and I want to thank you all for joining me today on The Preppy Book Princess. Since it is Friday, I'm once again linking up with Hoarding Books for another edition of First Line Friday. This fun, weekly blog meme simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading, and today I'm sharing a recent release that I really ended up enjoying. A Dazzle of Diamonds by Liz Johnson: About the Book: Best friends Penelope and Tucker have faced their share of challenges. But finding a lost treasure in time to clear his family's name and win him an election may uncover something they never expected. My Thoughts: This ended up being my favorite of the Georgia Coast Romance books, and I loved that it included two of my all time favorite romance tropes: fake dating and friends to something more. I also love how it's told partly in epistolary style and also includes a time slip element throug...
