Publication Date: June 17th, 2025

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary

Series: Love in Blackwater

Synopsis:

When a runaway bride hitches a ride from her best friend’s grumpy brother, their lives will never be the same.

Anna Harris needs a getaway car after her wedding day ends in disaster. She may be a hopeless romantic, but she knows there's no Prince Charming coming to her rescue. There's only Beau, and right now, he's her only chance at freedom.

Beau Lawrence planned to sit through the ceremony and slip out before the reception. Helping the bride disappear wasn't on his to-do list. But now here he is, walking her to his motorcycle, trying to ignore the way her trust in him stirs something long buried.

Beau avoids relationships, and he is the last person Anna expected to give her hope as her life falls apart. And yet, what started as a desperate escape plan has quickly turned into the adventure of a lifetime—and maybe, just maybe, the answer to prayers she never knew to pray.

But when they return to the real world after a life-changing week completing her honeymoon bucket list, will their differences destroy their happily ever after?

If you loved the Blackwater Ranch series and the Wolf Creek Ranch series, get ready to fall in love all over again in Blackwater, Wyoming.

My Review:

Anna and Beau's story was everything I was waiting and hoping for, and I had a hard time wanting to put it down! I've enjoyed both of these characters from the glimpses we were given in previous titles, and I couldn't wait for them to get their own story. The author definitely did justice to their beautiful romance, and I think readers everywhere are going to adore this heartwarming, faith filled romance. And even better? It includes a cross over with the Freedom Ridge books, and that was such an unexpected and fun surprise.

I've always thought that Anna deserved better than Dean, and I loved how this story opened with her finally realizing so. This leads into probably one of the most unique plot points I've ever seen in a Mandi Blake novel, where Anna ends up taking her honeymoon to Freedom, Colorado with her best friend's brother Beau. The two don't seem to have that much in common at the start, but as they set off on the journey to make the most of their holiday, they'll realize just how easily they can fall for each other amidst the beautiful backdrop of winter in Colorado.

While the romance was beautiful and swoon worthy, I especially enjoyed how Anna's relationship with Beau is what finally encourages her to reevaluate how she's been living her life and come to realize that's she so much more precious in our Heavenly Father's eyes than she'd been lead to believe. Wrapped up with many appearances from previous couples in the series (including my all time favorites, Dawson and Olivia), and a bit of mystery and intrigue surrounding another plot point, this lovely romance had a bit of something for everyone, and I can't possibly recommend it enough.

Final Rating: 5/5.

This was everything I could have possibly wanted, and is without a doubt one of the best books I've read this year.

Thanks so much to Mandi Blake for allowing me to advance read and review this title!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters I'd name a child/cat/dog/car/ etc After.

Happy Tuesday guys! I enjoyed Top Ten Tuesday so much last week, that I decided to go ahead and take part again this week. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish, and here's the link to the main page if you're interested in becoming a part of it: http://www.brokeandbookish.com/p/top-ten-tuesday-other-features.html Today's topic is: Ten Characters I'd Name A Child/Cat/Dog/Car/ etc After, and I think it's going to be a really fun one. First, Characters I'd Name a Pet after: 1) Katsa from Kristin Cashore's Graceling: I have to start with Katsa, since it is actually what we named our adorable black and white kitten almost a year ago. She's grown so much since this picture, but this was taken right after we decided on her name. We tried several different book characters, but Katsa is the one she loved right away, and so is what we ended up going with. 2) Rose from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academ...
