Top 5 Wednesday: Least Favorite Book In Your Favorite Series.

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers :)

It's time for another awesome Top 5 Wednesday Topic, this week's being Least Favorite Book In Your Favorite Series.

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by gingerreadslainey over on YouTube, and here is the link to the goodreads group if you're interested in becoming a part of it:

This week there were a lot of books that were popping in and out of my mind, as possible choices for this topic, but I'm pretty happy with the ones I decided on. :)

1) Dare You To by Katie McGarry:

The Pushing The Limits series by Katie McGarry is one of my all time favorite book series, however I did not like Dare You To nearly as much as the other books simply because I found Beth's character to be downright obnoxious. I didn't care for the glimpses of her that were shown in the first book, Pushing The Limits, and I have to say that this book really did not redeem her too much in my eyes. I did however enjoy Ryan's character, and the continued glimpses of Noah, Echo, and Isaiah, but Beth's rude personality just left this book off of my favorites when I finished it.

2) Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins:

Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite book of all time is Stephanie Perkins' Anna and the French Kiss, so I was totally stoked to pick up the second one, Lola and the Boy Next Door. Unfortunately this one was slightly disappointing to me, and it was once again, because of the main character. I couldn't stand how Lola treated her parents, and numerous other people throughout the first half of the book, including Cricket. I know she had her reasons for being cautious around him, but she came across as rude and standoffish to me in the first part of the book. I definitely felt her character was redeemed in my eyes by the end of the book, and I still really did enjoy this overall story, I just don't care for it nearly as much as I loved Anna or Isla. :)

3) The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin:

Mara Dyer was without a doubt one of the most original, and compelling series that I've ever picked up. The first two left me with huge book hangovers, and I literally could not read them fast enough. While I honestly still loved the third book, it wasn't quite as amazing as the first two, and I wish she'd gone a slightly different direction with it, but overall this whole series was amazing, and I look forward to reading more from Michelle Hodkin in the future.

4) The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski:

If you asked me at anytime what one of the most addicting books I've ever read is, I can guarantee you that The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski would always make the list. I completely loved that book, and could barely put it down. Unfortunately, I did not feel the same way about the second book, as I found it slightly slow moving, and not nearly as compelling as the first one. However, I have high hopes that I'm going to love The Winner's Kiss, when I get a chance to read it, and I'm hoping it will redeem the second book in my eyes.

5) Dark Passage by Ridley Pearson:

I'm a huge booknerd, and a huge fan of Disney, so when I first found out about The Kingdom Keeper
series, I knew it would be right up my alley. I've adored this series right from the start, and I'm continuing to love the spin off series, The Return, however Dark Passage, the sixth novel in the original series, just did not live up to the other books in my opinion. For some reason, I just didn't find it nearly as addicting or compelling as I found every other book in the series. While it's definitely still a good book, it's just not as good as all the others. :)

That's my picks for Least Favorite Books In My Favorite Series. I can't wait to see what books everyone else picked. :) Thanks for reading, and I'll see everyone on Friday when I'll be back with my March 2016 wrap up!

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...

I'm excited to be taking part in another edition of First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books , but I'm also excited to be featuring one of my favorite author's new releases for this week's edition. First Line Friday simply consists of sharing the first line from the book you're currently reading, and today I'm going to be sharing from Mandi Blake's new book, which released last week. Noah Harding lives a simple life as a firefighter and rancher until Camille cras...
