Exciting Announcements For The Christmas Season :)

Happy Monday Guys!

I literally just had one of the greatest weekends I can remember in a long time. I've decided to try and and be a lot more positive than I've been recently, as being down and depressed is definitely not how I like myself to be. Sometimes life deals us hard circumstances, but I'm definitely trying to turn a new leaf with how I handle them.

This weekend my hubby and I got a jump start on our Christmas shopping, we enjoyed some quality time just watching movies, and yesterday, my dad and brothers came over to help us trim some trees that have been scraping against our roof in windstorms. We finished off the weekend with pizza and games night with my parents and siblings, and it was one of the best times I've had in a long time.

I'm definitely enjoying getting to be in the holiday spirit, and that brings me to the purpose of today's post, which is making a couple of exciting announcements about my blog for the holiday season.

1) First, I'm participating in the Broke and The Bookish's Secret Santa exchange for the first time ever, and I couldn't be more excited. I will be posting updates on my blog as I purchase and wrap goodies for my secret Santa, and I can't wait to reveal myself to her.

Unfortunately, the deadline for this year's signup has already passed, but if you're interested in learning about if for next year, you can find out more here

2) And secondly, I've decided to try and commit to doing Blogmas this year! Blogmas means posting on your blog everyday from December 1st until December 25th, and I'm really wanting to try as hard as I can to succeed at this. I look forward to sharing some day in the life posts, bookish gift guides, wish lists, Outfit of the day posts, maybe some recipe posts, and definitely some posts talking about my favorite holiday reads!

If you guys are participating in either the #TBTBSecretSanta or Blogmas, please let me know as I'd love to follow your blogs!

You can also follow me on Twitter or Instagram to see what else I get up to this holiday season, I'm @PreppyBookQueen on both!

Thanks so much for reading guys, and I'm so excited to celebrate the Christmas season with the blogging community. :)

This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

First Line Friday: Carolina Breeze

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all having a great week! Mine has actually been pretty good. We've had some really nice days, and my husband and I were finally able to put our garden in, and various flowers and the like. We've also had a couple of lovely, rainy days as well, and I love how green everything is looking in our yard right now. For today's post, I'm excited to once again be linking up with the lovely Hoarding Books  for another edition of First Line Friday. This fun weekly meme simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading. For this week's first line, I'm going to be sharing from Denise Hunter's recently released title that I ended up absolutely loving. Carolina Breeze by Denise Hunter: About The Book: A jilted bride. A struggling innkeeper. And a romantic mountain getaway that changes everything. Rising Hollywood star Mia Emerson is looking for a safe place to land in the wake of a public breakup a
