February 2017 TBR List!

Happy Monday Guys!

This post was actually supposed to go up on Friday, but unfortunately I caught the nasty flu virus that has been going around at work on Thursday night, and as such, I spent Friday almost entirely in bed.

Oh well, it's not quite February, so I think I'm still plenty in time to share my February 2017 TBR List with all you guys!

I'm not sure if February will be as great of a reading month for me as January was, and that's partly because I'm taking on a lot of extra responsibility with work, and I'm not sure how much time I'll actually have for reading. In fact, I'm actually on my way out the door here soon to lead training sessions for the rest of the day. However, reading is definitely my favorite pastime, and I know I'll be taking advantage of any spare time I have to check some great reads off of my TBR list, and these are the main ones I'm hoping to get to.

1) Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare: I've heard nothing but great things about the first book in The Dark Artifices series, and I definitely can't wait to jump into it. I just picked this one up at the library yesterday, and since I already have a few books on the go, I know I won't be getting to it until next month.

I'm especially intrigued by the addition of a murder mystery element in this one, and I'm hoping I'll love it as much as everyone else who's read it seems to.

2) Waking In Time by Angie Stanton: I currently have this one from Netgalley, and I've really enjoyed Angie's previous novels. This one is really different, in my opinion, from anything she's written before, and I hope to have it finished next month.

3) Sisterchicks Do The Hula by Robin Jones Gunn: I'm continuing on with reading Robin Jones Gunn's books that connect her Forever Friends novels this month, and this is the next one on my list. If I have time, I may also read the next one or two novels in this series, depending on how fast I finish this one.

4) The Last Thing You Said by Sara Biren: This is another one I currently have from Netgalley, and it sounds like it will definitely be my type of read. There's nothing I love more than a YA contemporary, and so I'm very much looking forward to curling up with this one.

5) Taken By Storm by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: I mentioned in December that the Raised By Wolves series was one I wanted to finish in 2017. And February is finally the month that I'm going to stop procrastinating and read the last book already. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to get to it, as I did enjoy the first two. I think more than anything it just got lost in the shuffle among all the other great books I was reading at the time.

6) It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover: I actually don't know too much about what this one's about, but I've heard that it's an amazing read, and is Colleen's best novel to date, so I definitely want to give it a try next month.

7) Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven: This is a book that's been on my TBR list forever. I've heard so many great things about this NA novel, and after having met Leisa Rayven at RT Booklovers and seeing what an amazing person she is, I definitely cannot wait to read this.

8) Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon: Of all the novels I had recommended to me in 2016, this one was the one I kept hearing about over and over again, and I definitely decided it's time to see what all the hype is about. I'm really hoping I love this one as much as everyone who recommended it to me did.

9) Up To This Pointe by Jennifer Longo: This one came highly recommended from one of the bookstagramer's I follow on Instagram, and since it sounded like nothing I'd ever read before, I decided to go ahead and give it a chance.

10) Daughters Of The Bride by Susan Mallery: My last pick for February is an adult contemporary to mix up my list a bit. I've come to really enjoy Susan Mallery's writing style, and I heard so much about this book while we were attending RT, that it's definitely become a book I'm very much wanting to read ASAP.

And that's the ten books I hope to finish in February guys! I'd love to hear which books you're all planning on reading next month. :)

Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
