Happy Monday Guys!
I hope everyone's week is off to a great start, and that you all had an awesome weekend. I can't believe we're already in to the third week of 2017! Seriously where have the last few weeks disappeared to?
Yesterday was my 29th birthday, and to put it mildly, it wasn't the world's greatest day. Unfortunately some drama ended up getting dragged into it, and I ended up sick at the end of the day, but regardless I was very thankful for the quality time I was able to spend with my hubby and my family.
Probably one of my favorite parts of my birthday was honestly just getting to spend some downtime with my mom. She's an avid curling fan, and so she was watching a curling championship on TV, (don't ask me which one, cause I'm not a sports fan in the slightest bit and I would have no idea what it was called), and while she was doing so, we took some time just to have a nice chat, and it had been quite a while since we'd done so. I was talking to her about the fact that 2016 was just not a good year for me. I was really proud of myself for how much further I brought my blog along, but other than that, circumstances made it probably my least favorite year ever. And so, I ended up talking to my mom about the fact that my faith, hubby, family and friends, and my books is what really pulled me through.
YA books in particular have had such a profound impact on my life, and I'm always thankful for when I'm having an absolutely horrible day, I can lose myself in a different world for a few hours that's contained within the pages of some of my favorite books.
Despite the fact that I'm now 29, I have no plans of moving on from YA books. I think I'll eternally be an adult reading young adult books, and that is perfectly fine with me.
And now that extremely long introduction was my way of jumping into talking about which books I'm most excited to be released in 2017!
I've enjoyed reading other blog posts on this topic, and watching Booktube video's about it, and so today I'm going to share my most anticipated releases with all you guys!
Now there's lots of series this year that are releasing books two, three, even four, but I'm not including them on my list if I haven't read the previous books. Like for instance, I'm really excited for Katie McGarry to be releasing Long Way Home, but since I haven't had a chance to read Walk The Edge yet, I won't be including it on my list, as I know I won't probably be reading it in the immediate future.
Here's my list:
Always and Forever Lara Jean by Jenny Han:
This is definitely my number one pick. I adored the first two books in this trilogy, and I was beyond belief excited when Jenny Han decided to write this third and final book which wasn't originally her plan. Lara Jean and Peter have to be one of the cutest contemporary couples of all time, and I'm really looking forward to be thrown back into their world.
By Your Side by Kasie West:
Kasie West has become one of my all time favorite contemporary authors. I love her quirky characters, the adorable romances, and her beautiful writing style. The fact that this one is about two characters who accidentally get locked in a library together for a weekend sounds like something I need in my life right now, and I will definitely be reading this one as soon as it comes out!
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas:
This novel by Angie Thomas definitely sounds like something we need in our world right now. I'm so impressed to see how many YA authors are standing up for causes like this one, and I know I will definitely be reading this one this year.
Once and For All by Sarah Dessen:
Sarah Dessen was one of the first YA author's I ever read, and ever since then I've sometimes had a hard time waiting for the long periods between her books releases. However, as soon as I get my hands on the new book, I always end up thinking the wait was worth it, as Sarah always puts out poignantly, beautiful novels that deal with real issues, and always have a huge impact on me. I'm beyond belief excited to read this new one by her soon!
The Ends Of The World by Maggie Hall:
After the insane way that Maggie Hall ended Map Of Fates, I've been dying to get my hands on this book. I would definitely say that this is one of my favorite debut series of all time, and I highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a new series to start on this year.
And those are my current picks for most anticipated books releasing in 2017! Of course I do hope to catch up on many series that have new books releasing this year, and that is currently one of my reading goals for the next couple of months. :)
Thanks so much for reading guys! And I'd love to hear which books you're most excited for that are releasing in 2017.
