November TBR 2018

Hello Bookish Friends :)

I'm Kirby, and I want to thank you all for joining me today on The Preppy Book Princess.

And can I just start off by saying that I can't believe it's already November? It seems like not that long ago I thought I was so ahead of the game by starting my Christmas shopping in July, and now were less than seven weeks away from it.

As Christmas and fall are my two favorite times of the year, I'm very much looking forward to this month, and the many amazing books I hope to get to read during it.

Here's my list of amazing books for this month's TBR.

This is the one that my friend and I have chosen as our book club pick for this month, and we're both really looking forward to it. I feel it's a little less hyped than a lot of other young adult books, and I'm hoping that we'll both really end up liking it. This is also our first time reading a young adult historical fiction book for book club so it was nice to try something different. For some reason, I wasn't expecting it to be a humorous book, so I've been quite surprised with just how funny I've found the first couple of chapters to be.

After how Storm Front ended, I literally had been waiting on pins and needles to find out what happens next. I'm through the moon that I got this one from NetGalley, as I'm honestly not sure I would have been able to wait until release day. This one I've actually already finished, since I'm a few days posting this TBR, and it was just as good, if not better, than I was evening hoping for.

I've never read a Mary Weber book before, but I'm very much looking forward to diving into this one. I love that it seems part mystery, part fantasy, and that it focuses on girls getting the chance to get their voice heard.

I was lucky enough to get to advance read Lindsay Harrel's novel, The Heart Between Us, and I LOVED it! It was such a heartfelt contemporary, and it's still a book I find myself thinking back on even now. So I can't wait to dive into her next upcoming release, especially since the synopsis sounds so good!

A Christian Fiction novel by Katherine Reay and it's about a bookstore? Yup, I'm pretty much already sold on this one, and I'll be looking forward to getting the chance to start it this month.

After finishing A Mad Zombie Party last month, I'm hoping to read this one that's from Kat's point of view, sometime this month.

I already started this one over the weekend, and I'm already really into the story. The Little Mermaid is my all time favorite Disney movie, so I have pretty high expectations for this Urusla retelling.

These three holiday stories were actually on my TBR list for December of last year, and I ran out of time, and unfortunately never got the chance to read them. Since I'm in the mood for festive stories, I hope to get to them all this month.

I'm currently on the waiting list for this one from my library, and I'm hoping I'll get it this month. I'm mainly excited for Kasie West's story, as she's my fave, but all in all I think this holiday novella collection sounds adorable.

I'm also currently on the waiting list for this one at my local library, and I can't wait to read it. I look forward every year to Debbie's new holiday story, and this one is no exception.

And I'm sure I'll be adding a couple more books to my list along the way, but for now, these are the ones I hope to get to.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day, and I'll see you all back here on Monday.

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
