Hello Friends :)
Can you believe that August is almost already over? I'm personally never too sad to see summer come to an end. Fall is by far my favorite season, and the time period from September through December is my favorite part of the year.
However, this summer really seemed to go by fast. Possibly this was due to all the craziness that currently exists within our world, but whatever the reason, it seems a little crazy to me that it's already almost time to start decorating for fall.
My hubby is taking some vacation days in September, and while we're not ending up with the big Disney vacation that we'd started planning back in December, we are still looking forward to a few days away, and some time to read and relax.
If you also have a relaxing vacation coming up and you're looking for a great read to curl up with, then you definitely want to stay tuned for today's book review.
Until I Met You by Tari Faris:
Source: Publisher via NetGalley
Publisher: Revell
Publication Date: September 8th, 2020
Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Romance
Series: Restoring Heritage
Synopsis:
When she hears that the small town of Heritage, Michigan, is looking for a new librarian, Libby Kingsley jumps at the opportunity. Little did she know the library is barely more than a storage closet stuffed with dusty, outdated books. What the community really needs is a new building. But the only funds available are those being channeled into the new town square, and the landscape architect in charge of the project wants nothing to do with her plans.
All Austin Williams wants to do is get the town square project finished so he can do right by the family business and then extricate himself from the town that reveres the brother who cost him so much. But the local media and the town's new librarian seem to be conspiring against him at every turn. Will the determined bookworm find her way into his blueprints--and possibly even his heart?
Novelist Tari Faris invites you back to the small town with a big heart in this second book in the Restoring Heritage series.

My Review:
Until I Met You was my first experience with a novel by Tari Faris, and I'm so disappointed in myself that I never got around to reading her first release as I absolutely adored this one and could barely bring myself it put it down. I've long been a fan of Christian authors that write about characters that aren't perfect, and I'm thrilled to now have another author to add to that list. The faith element in Until I Met You is at the forefront of the entire story, but each character deals with struggles and weaknesses that they come to learn can only be conquered through the grace and redemption of our Heavenly Father. The story is beautiful, heartwarming and emotional, and I already know I'm going to have to pick up a print copy of this one to have on my shelves to read over and over again.
I've always thought that it takes a very talented author to have two romances taking place in a single story, and keep them both of equal interest to the reader. I loved Libby and Austin's story; especially the way it gets off to such a rocky start, but I also adored Olivia and Nate's journey to romance, and the way it involves Nate having to come to terms with his shady past and accept the forgiveness that God has graciously extended towards him.
Having Libby be a librarian and a fun loving bookworm was just the icing on the cake of this delightful story, and I especially enjoyed getting to read about her love for Carnegie libraries. This story made me laugh out loud, tear up, and recognize the importance of having faith filled fiction like this one on the market today. I couldn't have enjoyed this one more, and it's getting the highest possible recommendation from me. I'm very much looking forward to going back and reading the first book and the prequel novella in the series, and I'll be on the edge of my seat awaiting the release of book three.
Final Rating: 5/5.
Thanks so much to Revell for allowing me to read and review this!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Revell) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your week :)
I hope you enjoy your time away...even if it's not at Disney. I read the first book in this series and after reading your review, now I want to read this one, too!
