Love Finds You in Paradise, Pennsylvania by Loree Lough Review

 Hello Friends :)

I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

Have any of you guys read any of the titles from the multi author Love Finds You series? I haven't had the opportunity to read a ton of them, but I've really enjoyed all the ones I have.

I often find these harder to get my hands on nowadays, and I'm always excited when I stumble upon one of them at my used bookstore, the library or on the Libby app.

You can check out all the reviews of the ones I've read and reviewed previously using the links below:

Love Finds You in Mackinac Island, Michigan by Melanie Dobson

Love Finds You in Frost, Minnesota by Judy Baer

Today's review is one I'm excited to share with you all because on top of it being another title from this beloved series, it's also an Amish fiction title which are always some of my favorites.

Keep reading for my full review.

Synopsis:

For as long as anyone can remember, tourists have flocked to the quaint town of Paradise, Pennsylvania, where Amish buggies are as common as shops selling handcrafted goods. But to attorney Julia Spencer this town is anything but a paradise. Raised in foster homes, Julia has succeeded in life only through steely determination and independence. The close-knit Amish people are a mystery to her, but local veterinarian Simon Thomas knows them well and is fiercely protective of their simple ways, which are increasingly threatened by the outside world. When Julia agrees to defend a local teenager charged in a case involving an Amish boy, she and Simon find themselves on opposite sides of an intense and emotional legal battle. Just when it seems they will never understand one another, God has something to teach them both about the power of forgivenessand the joys to be found in Paradise.

My Review:

This was my first experience with a Loree Lough novel, and I was looking forward to diving into another one of the Love Finds You titles. I can honestly say that of all the ones I've read in this series, this one is by far the most poignant and deep, and I'm still constantly thinking about it many days later.

Julia and Simon are two characters who have had dark tragedies in their pasts, and neither are expecting to find love. What starts as a simple friendship from a joint interest in the local wolf sanctuary, turns into a beautiful romance. Both Julie and Simon are great friends with a local Amish family, and both are inspired by the youngest child in the family. However, when tragedy strikes this family, Simon and Julia find themselves at odds, and neither know how to move past the hurt feelings and the deep hole that losing each other has caused.

Told in both Julia and Simon's viewpoints, Love Finds You in Paradise, Pennsylvania, is a heart wrenching, emotional story that truly reminds us all that no matter what may come our way, God always has a master plan and we need to be willing to trust Him with it no matter what. I truly admired the deep faith that is demonstrated by the Amish community in this beautiful story, and I loved how much of an impact that has on both Simon and Julia's doubts. I also appreciated how authentically and realistically the grief process is portrayed. Grieving rarely works on the same timeline for everyone, and I thought the author did a fantastic job of portraying that.

This book is definitely one I recommending reading with a box of tissues nearby, as it truly made me ugly cry, but I honestly really enjoyed it, and I look forward to hopefully reading more books from this author in the future.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
