The Spark of Love by Amanda Cabot Review

 Happy Monday Friends :)

I pray you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

This week is a really tough one for me. I don't want to go into details, as I'm not comfortable doing so, but it's definitely a week that has me anxious, and needing to lean into Jesus more than ever.

I'm not sure how my blog posts are going to go for the rest of the week because of everything going on, so I wanted to make sure that I got this one out for all you guys today.

Last year, I finally read my first Amanda Cabot novel, and I instantly fell in love with her writing.

The book I ended up reading was the second in a series, and I immediately went back and read the first.

I've been anxiously awaiting the release of the third book ever since, and it's finally here!

If you'd like to check out my reviews of the first two books, you can check out the links below:

When a spurned suitor threatens her, heiress Alexandra Tarkington flees New York for Mesquite Springs in the Texas Hill Country, where her father is building a hotel. But the happy reunion she envisions is not to be as her father insists she return to New York. Instead, Alexandra carves out a niche for herself in town, teaching schoolchildren to paint and enjoying the company of Gabe Seymour, a delightful man she met on the stagecoach.

But all is not as it seems. Two men, each with his own agenda, have followed her to Mesquite Springs. And Gabe is an investigator, searching for proof that her father is a swindler. When a series of apparent accidents threaten her life, Alexandra and Gabe will have to work together to discover the truth. And perhaps along the way they will discover that the sparks of attraction they've felt from the beginning are more than sparks--they're love.

Bestselling author Amanda Cabot invites you back to 1850s Texas for this exciting and heartwarming tale of treachery, love, and learning to trust.

My Review:

The first two books in Amanda Cabot's Mesquite Springs series were two of my favorites I read in 2021, and I've been anxiously awaiting the third and final book ever since. The Spark of Love is a beautiful and perfectly satisfying conclusion to this wonderful series, and I can wholeheartedly say that this book lived up to every one of my expectations.

I truly adore Amanda Cabot's writing style, and the way she always manages to make the story come alive on the page to the reader. I found myself not wanting to put this one down once I started it, and I loved how it includes faith, friendship, a sweet romance, an emphasis on the importance of family, and many elements of both comedy and suspense.

Alexandra and Gabe's story is both heartwarming and heart wrenching, and I loved how the reader gets to follow along every tender moment of their journey. If you enjoyed the previous books in the series, then you'll also love the tidbits we get to see from other residents of Mesquite Springs, and I was especially happy to see two other beloved residents of this wonderful town get their own happily ever after.

Perhaps though, my favorite part of all, was the emphasis on the fact that none of us can ever be perfect on our own, and that we're never too far gone for Christ's sacrifice to apply to us as well. I love when an author can effortlessly blend the faith message into the actual storyline authentically, and Amanda Cabot does so beautifully.

I'm so sad to see this series come to an end, as I'm honestly not sure I'm ready to say goodbye to this town or its beloved characters. However, I can't wait to see what this author has in store for her readers in the future, and I'm already looking forward to her next release.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Definitely pick this one up if you're a fan of clean, faith based historical fiction that includes romance and a touch of suspense.

Thanks so much to Revell for allowing me to read and review this!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher (Revell) as part of the Revell Reads Blogger Program in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often.
