Love, Lies and Sleigh Rides by D.E. Malone Review

 Happy Monday Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I'm actually looking forward to today. My hubby and I are going to head out on a little bit of a road trip to do some Christmas shopping. It might seem early to some, but I've actually already started my list a couple months back, and I hope to get a lot more of it crossed off by the end of the day.

Since we are doing something fun and festive today, I thought kicking off the morning by sharing another Christmas book review with you all was a wonderful idea.

If you've read my blog before, then you've probably heard me mention time and time again just how much I love small town romances, and over the past couple of years, D.E. Malone has become one of my favorite authors within this genre.

I've reviewed quite a few of the other titles in the Blueberry Point Romance series, and you can check those out using the links below:

Love, Lies and Lavender

Love, Lies and Mistletoe

Love, Lies and Lullabies

Love, Lies and Lemon Pies

Blueberry Point Romance Collection

I hope you'll all keep reading down below for today's full review of the wonderful upcoming release in this series.

Source: Complimentary Copy Provided by the Author as Part of Her Review Team

Publication Date: October 21st, 2022

Genre: Sweet Romance/Contemporary Romance/Christmas Read

Series: Blueberry Point Romance

Synopsis:

He values tradition. She's pushing for progress.
Can they find common ground under the Christmas lights this season?

Despite an aversion to all things Christmas, plucky publicist Fallon Gale is in charge of taking the Holly Days Festival to the next level. They might not appreciate her vision, but she's determined to drag these tradition-bound locals into this century, despite the handsome, enigmatic son of the festival’s founders fighting her at every turn.

Marine First Sergeant Kade Behar just retired from active service and returned home to Hendricks. But clashing with the infuriating yet adorable woman who would rather seat Santa and Mrs. Claus in one of those fancy electric pickup trucks instead of his family’s heirloom sleigh is not what he had in mind. He’s caught between saving the festival from a stranger's non-traditional plans and fighting his growing attraction to her.

When Fallon unknowingly enlists help from a Behar family rival for the festival, Kade draws a line in the snow. But 'tis the season for surprises, and with the help of a little holiday magic, snowflakes—and sparks—might fly this Christmas.

My Review:

Love, Lies and Sleigh Rides is another wonderful addition to D.E. Malone's beloved Blueberry Point Romance series. It's the kind of story that you're going to want to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate, a fuzzy blanket, and a good allotment of time, as you're definitely not going to want to put it down once you start reading it.

In this fifth installment, readers are treated to the sweet and heartwarming romance between Fallon Gale and Kade Behar. She's in Hendricks to perform publicity for the town's upcoming Holly Days Festival, and he's recently moved back home after retiring from active service. The two meet when Fallon's car goes off the road in a bad blizzard, and while there may be some instant sparks, it's definitely not love at first sight. As the two butt heads over the town's beloved Christmas festival, a beautiful romance starts to develop, and showcases that magical things can happen during the best time of the year.

While I love visiting Hendricks and the gorgeous Blueberry Point Lodge during any time of the year, there's something extra special about visiting it during the holiday season, and this Christmas romance definitely did not disappoint.

It was heartwarming, magical, full of the warm fuzzies, and showcases the beautiful talent that D.E. Malone has for penning heartwarming contemporary romances.

This might just be my favorite of the series yet, and I can't recommend it enough. Definitely a new favorite, and one that I'm going to be revisiting in many Christmas seasons to come.

I loved it, and I'm looking forward to the next release in the series.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to D.E. Malone for allowing me to advance read and review this one!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I hope your week is off to a great start, and I look forward to sharing more bookish content with you all later this week. :)

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...

I'm excited to be taking part in another edition of First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books , but I'm also excited to be featuring one of my favorite author's new releases for this week's edition. She won’t let anyone stand in her way… until a deer runs into the road and causes her to wreck and forget almost everything. Noah Harding lives a simple life as a firefighter and rancher until Camille cras...
