Hope for the Hero by Mandi Blake Review

 Happy Monday Friends :)

I pray your week is off to a great start wherever you're reading from, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by The Preppy Book Princess for another book review.

We had a huge snowstorm hit our area over the weekend, and I'm very much looking forward to just getting to stay home and spend some quality time with Jesus, my hubby, my kitties, and the wonderful books I've been reading. And if I'm being honest, I'm also looking forward to getting to treat myself to one of the amazing homemade apple fritters that my husband made for us yesterday morning.

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then you're probably already quite aware just how much I adore Mandi Blake's wonderful stories.

Her books are always clean, swoon worthy, and full of love for Jesus, and I've yet to not love one of her books.

Every Christmas season, I look forward to getting to read her new holiday release, and this year, she's treated her reader's to another installment in the multi author series, The Heroes of Freedom Ridge.

Hope for the Hero by Mandi Blake:

Source: Complimentary Copy Provided by the Author as Part of Her ARC Team

Publication Date: November 9th, 2022

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Romance

Series: Heroes of Freedom Ridge

Synopsis:

She’s his opposite, and opposites don’t attract. So why is she impossible to resist?

Tessa Mitchell is finally getting a chance to work at her brother’s private security firm, and after one hundred other jobs that didn’t work out, this one needs to stick. Headquarters could use a makeover anyway. Oh, and she’s working for up-tight Adam. Ruffling his meticulous feathers should be fun.

Adam doesn’t need an assistant, especially not flighty Tessa. If she’d let him get a word in between her constant questions, he’d save her the trouble. She’s not meant to work in the security field.

Except, Tessa is intelligent underneath all that flirty chatter, and Adam can’t focus when she’s around. The smart thing to do would be to shut down the feelings and put some space between them. Instead, they’re sent out of town for work. Together.

When a snowstorm descends on their first co-assignment, will a change in the weather cause a change in their hearts?

Return to Freedom, Colorado and enjoy the faith, friendships, and forever-afters of the Heroes of Freedom Ridge in this Christian Christmas romance.

My Review:

Hope For the Hero is another wonderful story by Mandi Blake, and I think readers everywhere are going to love this faith based, opposites attract romance. It was a pleasure getting to return to Freedom Ridge, and reconnect with old friends from previous books, while getting to know our new and definitely worthy protagonists. I honestly had a hard time wanting to put this one down once I started it, and I'm once again in awe of the storytelling abilities of this fantastic author.

It's definitely not love at first sight for either Tessa or Adam when she firsts start working with him at her brother's company. He's rigid and doesn't trust easily, and she's never met a stranger amongst the many jobs she's flitted through over the years. However, God sometimes uses the most unlikely of situations to draw His children back to Him, and Adam is definitely not prepared for the stirrings that Tessa will inspire in his heart towards her, or towards the Heavenly Father that he was convinced abandoned him years prior.

With a wonderful romance that gives readers all the warm fuzzies, a perfectly plotted story that includes Mandi's traditional bits and pieces of suspense, and a faith journey that comes across to the reader as both authentic and realistic along the way, Hope for the Hero is another masterpiece by one of the genre's best, and is a perfect illustration of just how talented Mandi truly is as an author.

I love how she continues to write from the heart, and I love how her characters always come to feel like old friends by the time you finish the story. I can't possibly recommend this beautiful romance enough, and I know I will definitely have to find time to reread it in the very near future!

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Mandi Blake for allowing me to advance read and review this one!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author as part of her ARC team. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I pray you all have a great rest of your day :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
