Targeted: Three Romantic Suspense Novellas by Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn, and Natalie Walters Review

 Good Morning Everyone :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

Before I dive right into today's review, I just want to take a moment and talk about the fact that I'm feeling sad for our world right now. There's so much hurt and smallness and evil, and it's heartbreaking watching a world that needs Jesus, and yet turns to anything else instead.

I'm praying for my city, my province, my country, and the world right now, and I pray that more and more people will have their eyes opened to the enemy's lies, and the truth of our Heavenly Father.

One of my biggest wishes is that God would use my blog to reach someone who needs to know Him, and that's why I made the decision a couple of years ago to mainly highlight fiction that honors Him, and make sure I include any information that doesn't in my reviews.

Today's review is for a novella collection that ended up being a new favorite. I'd heard great things about it before starting it, and I ended up feeling the same way after finishing it.

Keep reading below for my full review.

My Review:

As someone who is a long time fan of Christian suspense novels, I expected to enjoy this novella collection. However, I was honestly not expecting to end up loving it as much as I did, and I barely wanted to put it down once I picked it up to start reading it.

Despite each story only having a novella word count, each was wonderfully complex and plot driven, and illustrated just how talented each of these authors truly are. If you'd read the connecting series, especially with Lynette Eason's, you'd notice some familiar faces, but I appreciated that you could come into this collection without having read the multiple series without feeling like you couldn't follow the story.

I appreciated that each novella had a swoon worthy romance that I found myself rooting for, but the romance was definitely secondary to the suspense aspect, and I personally preferred it being done that way with the length of these particular stories. The action was non stop right from the get to, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well rounded each mystery was, and loved the fact that they kept me guessing. When I pick up a book labeled "Christian suspense", I want to see a true faith element within, and I was thankful that was the case here. I loved how it felt genuine and authentic, and never just thrown in for good measure.

I personally loved Lynn Blackburn's the most of the three, as the set up of it being around a physical therapist who is currently treating the Vice President's son, and ends up falling for his Secret Service agent was original and intriguing, and I loved how dastardly the villainous plot ended up being as well.

My second favorite was Lynette Eason's, and I especially loved how this tied into her Danger Never Sleeps series, and was extremely character driven.

I did still love Natalie Walter's contribution, but it ended up being my least favorite of the three. It was still a wonderful story, but it took me quite awhile to warm up to the characters.

All in all, it's easy to tell from reading this one why it is that these three talented ladies have become some of the most sought out voices within the genre. I was blown away by the wonderfully complex stories they were able to deliver within a novella word count, and I'd highly recommend this one to anyone who loves Christian suspense.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Revell for providing me a complimentary copy to read and review!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher (Revell) as part of the Revell Reads Blogger Program. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.
