I pray today finds you all doing well, and thank you for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

Whatever your weekend held, I pray that you were able to spend time reflecting and celebrating the ultimate sacrifice our Lord and Savior made for us on the cross. Moreso than any year before, I really wanted to spend time reflecting on who I'm living my life for, and if I'm being responsible with all the blessings He's bestowed on me for His glory.

Today's review is from the newest title in Barbara Ross' Maine Clambake Mystery series, and I'm looking forward to telling you all about it.

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then you probably already know that this is one of my all time favorite cozy mystery series, and I always look forward to new stories featuring these beloved characters.

My Review:

Barbara Ross' Maine Clambake Mystery series has been one of my favorite cozy mystery series right from the beginning, and I always look forward to diving into new stories with these beloved characters.

I'm someone who knew next to nothing about oyster farming going into this title, and I was pleasantly surprised by just how much I enjoyed learning about the ins and outs of running this kind of operation. Those tidbits surprisingly ended up being one of my favorite parts of the book.

I thought the mystery was really well put together in this one, and I honestly didn't have a clue who the true culprit was by the time the entire reveal happened. I love when an author can keep me guessing right until the end, and this isn't actually the first time that this has happened for me within this series.

It was also interesting to have part of the story take place in a different town than Busman's Harbor, and I enjoyed how that element brought with it a plethora of new characters. I especially enjoyed the addition of Julia's aunt and uncle, and hearing a little bit more about her father's side of the family.

Unfortunately however, this one definitely ended up not being my favorite from the series, and that was basically because of the ending. I didn't like the way the author chose to more forward in a certain situation, and I especially didn't like how fast it was glossed over in the tiny conclusion. I wanted much more, and that left me disappointed.

Hopefully I'll feel better about this entire situation in books to come.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Still a fantastic cozy that I'd highly recommend, just not personally my favorite from the series.
