Dreaming About Forever by Mandi Blake Review

 Happy Wednesday Bookish Lovelies :)

I pray that today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you've taken time out of your busy day to join me today on The Preppy Book Princess for another book review.

Yesterday actually started a week of holidays for me, and I'm pretty excited about it. My husband's birthday is this week, and we've got some fun things planned to celebrate.

However, I got to spend my first day of holidays yesterday reading an upcoming release by one of my all time favorite authors, and today I get to tell you all about it.

This particular release is book five in a wonderful, faith based multi author series. I was lucky enough to get to read and review a couple of previous titles in the series, and if you're interested in checking out those reviews, you can do so using the links below:

Remembering the Rancher by Liwen Y. Ho

Wooing the Widower by Elle E. Kay

Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review.

Genre: Christian Fiction/Christmas Read/Contemporary

Series: Christmas in Redemption Ridge

Synopsis:

Her handsome bodyguard is doing a great job protecting her from reporters, but she may need to protect her heart. Former child sitcom star Alicia Carver loves the spotlight, but since launching her pop music career, the dirtier side of the business has been out to tear her apart. When her parents are charged with embezzlement, and her A-list fiancé dumps her on the red carpet, her perfect life crumbles faster than her rise to fame. Retreating to a small town seems like the best choice she has to avoid the press. Jordan Taylor’s plan to retire from the army when he was old and gray crashed and burned in Kandahar along with his best friend. Protecting entitled celebrities from paparazzi was the last thing he wanted, but no one else would hire an amputee with an attitude problem. If babysitting a pop princess wasn’t bad enough, his next job is sending him home to Redemption Ridge to spend Christmas with the family he hasn’t seen in years. Alicia’s heartbreak is soothed by the picturesque Christmas town, but her stoic bodyguard will barely loosen up enough to show her around. His past and his body are covered in scars, and she can’t help but wonder if he needs healing in Redemption Ridge just as much as she does. Between Jordan, his family, and the townspeople who have welcomed her with open arms, Alicia is torn between rekindling her love of music and finding a forever home in Redemption Ridge. When the rumors start flying and wrecking her new happiness, will Alicia be able to set things right before the real world tears her new dream apart? Visit Redemption Ridge, Colorado and enjoy the faith, friendships, and forever-afters of the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series of Christian romance.

This series is a spin-off continuation of the best-selling Heroes of Freedom Ridge Series with all new characters and traditions, but the same magic of community and romance readers love.

My Review:

Dreaming About Forever is a wonderful, sweet romance that's faith based and swoon worthy, and combines two of my favorite things together for the first time. First, I've always been someone who enjoys the classic trope of the "famous person falling for the regular person", and second, I couldn't wait to find out how one of my all time favorite authors was going to tackle this particular trope. This beautiful story was everything I could have hoped for and more, and it was a lovely Christmas treat to get another visit back to the fictional community of Redemption Ridge.

Alicia Carver has started off her holiday season with a couple of horrific incidents. First, her parents have embezzled from her accounts, and secondly, her famous fiancé has chosen to break things off in the most embarrassing way possible. When her manager suggests that she accompanies her new bodyguard home for the holidays to his family's ranch in Redemption Ridge, Alicia jumps at the chance to get a break from being in the public eye. Only she hadn't planned on the feelings that emerge towards her new bodyguard Jordan, or the way she seems to be falling head over heels for not just him, but also his entire family.

Told in both Alicia and Jordan's points of view, Dreaming About Forever is truly Mandi Blake at her best. This beautiful story speaks of healing hurts, finding true love, and most of all, learning that anything is possible for the only One who is truly writing our stories if we're content to trust Him with the pen.

I've been a fan of Mandi since the beginning of her career and I can without a doubt say this is her best book to date. The characters instantly feel like new friends, the Taylor family truly shines a light for Jesus, the setting is truly perfect for a Christmas read, and the romance is clean, swoon worthy, and left me with all the feels. Mandi's writing is spot on, and I could barely bring myself to put it down once I started it.

If you enjoy faith based Christmas romances, then this is definitely a story you are not going to want to miss. I can't possibly recommend it enough, and it was even more than I was hoping for.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Mandi Blake for allowing me to advance read and review this title!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I pray you all have a great rest of your day :)

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...
