Clearing the Cowboy's Name by Elle E. Kay Review

Happy Monday My Sweet Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and that you all had a wonderful weekend.

My hubby and I spent ours getting our outside Christmas decorations put up, and also having my mom over for dinner. It was a lovely weekend, and I'm feeling much more refreshed to start off the week.

I'm thankful you've taken the time today to join me here on The Preppy Book Princess for another book review, and today's review is for another one of the titles from the multi author Christmas in Redemption Ridge series. This one releases in only two days, and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

I hope you'll keep on reading down below, and join me for today's full review.

Genre: Christian Fiction/Suspense/Christmas Read

Synopsis:

Accused of stealing her first edition Austen. Guilty of stealing her heart. Rowan Calder arrives in Redemption Ridge trading the rodeo circuit for a quiet life training Ethan Thorn's thoroughbreds. He needs peace, anonymity, and distance from a past that won't let him go. Everything changes when someone breaks into Penelope Colagreco's cottage and steals her priceless set of Jane Austen books.

The chronically late, disaster-prone bookstore clerk who trips over her own feet and reorganizes bookshelves when nervous shouldn't make Rowan want to stick around. But Penelope's infectious laugh and endearing quirks have him reconsidering everything. The problem? The entire town decides he's the most plausible suspect in her theft.

Now Rowan faces an impossible run and confirm everyone's suspicions, or stay and risk exposing the very past that drove him from the rodeo world. Meanwhile, Penelope must decide if the cowboy who steadies her when she stumbles might be more dangerous than he lets on. Or if the real thief is still out there, watching them as they work to uncover the truth.

My Review:

I always enjoy Elle E. Kay's stories, but I particularly love her contributions to this multi author series. I'm always up for a Christmas read, and I love how these titles are always heartwarming, and focused around the true reason for the season with just a touch of suspense thrown in to keep the reader guessing.

Clearing the Cowboy's Name revolves around our main characters Rowan and Penelope. Rowan has spent years running from the rumors that destroyed his rodeo career, but suddenly they seem to have followed him to Redemption Ridge when the woman he's smitten with (Penelope) has a valuable set of Jane Austen novels stolen from her cottage, and all clues seem to point to him. As the two of them work together to clear his name, they'll discover that feelings are developing that may lead them on their way to their own happily ever after.

A sweet and heartwarming romance that was well written, swoon worthy, and Christ focused, I had a hard time wanting to put it down. I enjoyed both Rowan and Penelope as characters, and I loved how they brought out the best in each other along the way. I always enjoy a return visit to this charming small town, and Clearing the Cowboy's Name is a wonderful title that I'd highly recommend to anyone who enjoys clean, faith based romances with a touch of suspense.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Thanks so much to Elle E. Kay for allowing me to advance read and review this title!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author as part of her ARC Team. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Thanks so much for reading everyone! Have a wonderful rest of your day :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
