Books I'm Taking With My On Vacation :)

Happy Tuesday Guys!

As I'm sure many of you are aware, Tuesday is not a normal posting day for me. However, things are going to be a tad different on my blog this week, and that's because I'm finally going on vacation this week! We're actually leaving today, and I'm so excited to have a few days off from work to spend with my family. While I'm definitely going to miss my hubby and my kitten, I'm looking forward to getting back to the resort that my family always stayed at when I was younger, as it's been a few years since I've been back, and I'm also looking forward to getting to take my nephew to Calaway Park and the Calgary Zoo, as it will be his first time visiting both.

As we will probably not have internet for at least part of the trip, I've decided to not post my usual Wednesday and Friday posts, and instead just take the time to enjoy summer with my family.

I did feel bad though just doing one post this week, so I decided to do a bonus post today, and share which books will be coming on vacation with me.

This has been a sore subject between my brother and I as he doesn't feel this many books is necessary, and that it's taking up too much luggage space, but alas, he obviously has no idea how hard it is for us booknerds to narrow our choices down.

While I don't think I will finish all of these while were gone, I'm definitely looking forward to reading on the balcony and by the pool or the beach, and I do hope to make some pretty good headway in this pile.

I will be back to my normal posting hopefully come Monday, and I'm also planning on sharing a few details from our trip once I'm back.

In the meantime though, enjoy my list of books coming on vacation with me!

1) The first book coming with me is Two Summers by Aimee Friedman:

Obviously, the fact that this novel is about summer made it an awesome choice to take on vacation, but I also find the idea of parallel worlds really intriguing, and this is definitely one of the books I'm most excited to read while I'm gone.

2) The Season by Jonah Lisa Dyer and Stephen Dyer:

I have a slight fascination with reading about debutantes, and I think a good portion of this is due to the fact that it's definitely not something we have where I'm from. I think this book sounds hilarious, and like a perfect contemporary for reading while on the beach or at the pool.

3) Don't You Wish by Roxanne St. Clair:

This one has been on my wish list forever, as once again, the parallel universe angle really appealed to me, but it seemed to keep getting pushed further down the list in favor of other books. However, my best friend just finished it and loved it, so I decided to go ahead and order it from the library to take with me on this trip.

4) Imagines: Celebrity Encounter Starring You by Anna Todd and The Wattpad Authors:

I picked up this collection of short stories from one of the parties at RT Booklovers, but I haven't had much of a chance to make a dent in it. It is so far a pretty frivolous type of novel, but I think that helps make it a great choice for a vacation read. I'm particularly excited to read Peyton Novak's story, since I love her older sister Ali Novak's stories so much.

5) Lastly, I'm taking The Season Of You and Me by Robin Constatine:

Robin's previous novels are some of my all time favorite contemporaries, and this new one about a girl who's recently been dumped by her boyfriend, and ends up spending her summer working at a camp by the Jersey shore while visiting her estranged father sounds amazing. I also don't think I've read a YA novel about the love interest being paralyzed before, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading this one, and I can't wait to start it.

Those are the five books that will be joining me on vacation guys! Of course, I do have plenty of books downloaded to my Ibooks as well if I end up reading way more than planned.

I can't wait to spend the rest of this week on vacation with my family, and I hope you all have a great week and have a chance to enjoy summer. :)

Thanks for reading!

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
