Blogmas Day Twenty Three: The Christmas Book Blogger Tag

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you're all excited for Christmas, and I want to thank you for joining me today for Blogmas Day Twenty Three!

I was considering doing some type of Christmas traditions post for today's Blogmas, but I stumbled upon The Christmas Book Blogger Tag that was created by Trish from Between My Lines

I thought it not only looked like a really fun tag to do, but it also includes a few questions about how you typically spend Christmas and such, so I thought it would be the perfect post for today.

What is your favorite Christmas scene in a book?

The scene that definitely comes to mind for this one is from Little Women. I always loved how Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy come to learn the true meaning of Christmas, and how it ends up being one of their most enjoyable holidays after all.

Do you have any Christmas book traditions?

Every year I read Debbie Macomber's newest Christmas book sometime during December. I usually read Katherine Spencer's newest release too, but unfortunately I never got to hers this year.

Do you prefer to get presents of book vouchers or books?

Honestly I'm happy with whichever, as I love getting to shop for my own books after Christmas, but I also love when people take the time to pick out a book for me that they think I'll love.

Do you give books as presents?

Definitely. Not for every single person on my list, but the majority of them I do.

What bookish item is on your Christmas wishlist?

I've really been wanting a book sleeve from Etsy lately. I never go anywhere without a book, but I'm always worried about it getting damaged in my work bag, purse, or suitcase.

What 3 books would you love Santa to have in his sack for you?

Oooo this is such a hard one, and I feel like my answer keeps honestly changing. I'd love to see Paper Hearts by Ali Novak, Textrovert by Lindsay Summers, and Waterfall by Lisa Tawn Bergen.

Fake Christmas tree or real Christmas tree?

This for me depends on where I am. My hubby and I always have a fake tree, and I love it. However, my mom always had a real tree when we were growing up, and now when I visit her house at Christmas I definitely expect to see a real tree.

What's your favorite thing about Christmas?

Spending quality time with my loved ones, and celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior. Also, watching everyone's reactions to their gifts I give them.

What Christmas book would you recommend?

One of my all time favorites is A Texas Legacy Christmas by Diann Mills

What dish on your Christmas menu are you most looking forward to?

Pretty much everything, although the mashed potatoes and stuffing are always my favorite. I also always look forward to cranberry pear pie, and I'm making it myself this year for the first time ever.

When do you open your Christmas presents?

I definitely don't have one answer to this question. On Christmas Eve we open gifts at my moms with my immediate family, On Christmas morning we open presents at my moms with my stepfamily, on Christmas afternoon Neil and I exchange our gifts, and then this year on Christmas night we will be exchanging gifts with my Dad and his new family, and we will be exchanging with Neil's family on December 28th.

What's your favorite Christmas song?

I love a lot of the lesser known carols like Come on Ring Those Bells, A Thousand Candles, Ding Dong Merrily On High, I Saw Three Ships, Good King Wencesles, and Here we come a wassailing, and also Mary's Boy Child and Angels We Have Heard on High.

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas?

I don't really have to dream of it since we already have one. I'm not the biggest fan of snow or the cold, mainly because of my raynauds disease, but I definitely would miss the snow if we didn't have it at Christmas.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I hope you all have a great rest of your day, and I'll see you tomorrow on Christmas Eve for Blogmas Day 24!

This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The photo was taken by me and belongs to me.

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...

First Line Friday: Remembering the Cowboy by Mandi Blake

Happy Friday Friends :) There's so many reasons I'm excited that it's once again Friday. I'm excited to be taking part in another edition of First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books , but I'm also excited to be featuring one of my favorite author's new releases for this week's edition. First Line Friday simply consists of sharing the first line from the book you're currently reading, and today I'm going to be sharing from Mandi Blake's new book, which released last week. Remembering the Cowboy by Mandi Blake: About the Book: They have unfinished business. She just can’t remember what it is. Camille Vanderbilt is headed back home to Wyoming with one goal: find her old best friend and give him a piece of her mind for ghosting her six years ago. She won’t let anyone stand in her way… until a deer runs into the road and causes her to wreck and forget almost everything. Noah Harding lives a simple life as a firefighter and rancher until Camille cras...
