One Enchanted Christmas by Melissa Tagg Review

 Hello Friends :)

I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I'll be the first to admit that I have a lot of favorite authors. There's just too many whose books I love to choose only a couple of names when I'm asked that question.

One of the names on my list of favorite authors though is always Melissa Tagg. Since contemporaries are my favorite stories, it's probably not surprising that she's one of my favorites.

I'd actually never gotten around to reading her Christmas novellas (shocking I know!), and since I've been in the mood for Christmas reads lately, hers seemed like a perfect choice.

Not surprisingly, I ended up loving this quirky but sweet contemporary story, and today I can't wait to share with you all what I ended up thinking about it.

One Enchanted Christmas by Melissa Tagg:

Source: Free Through An Ebook Sale

Publication Date: December 8th, 2015

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Romance/Novella

Series: Enchanted Christmas

Synopsis:

Last December, mystery author Maren Grant had the most perfect night of her life. On a glimmering winter evening, she got to watch the photo shoot for her very first book and ended up on a magical date with the cover model himself—Colin Renwycke.

Fast forward one year. This December, with a looming deadline, restless spirit and her creative spark long since gone, Maren is desperate to get unstuck. And she can’t get Colin out of her head…or his year-old open invitation to spend a couple weeks writing at his family’s farm.

Drew Renwycke never planned to come home and take over the Renwycke family farm. But he’s spent too many years watching his siblings unravel, including his brother, Colin, after one terrible family mistake. If moving to Maple Valley, Iowa, renovating an old farmhouse and switching careers is what it takes to put the Renwycke family back together, he’ll do it.

But his simple plan upends when a scrappy author lands on his doorstep. And she just might be the key to coaxing his brother home. But what if he wants her all to himself? Drew will have to choose between his Christmas wish and the enchantment of a holiday romance that just might be the happy ending they all long for.

My Review:

I rarely end up rating novellas five stars. While I usually enjoy them, I find that they're often not developed enough within the word count to truly deserve a five star rating. However, this book was everything, and I truly adored it from start to finish. Melissa Tagg is a queen of the contemporary Christian fiction genre, and this sweet but quirky holiday story is right up there with my favorites by her.

The setting is charming and idyllic (I always love another visit to Maple Valley!), Maren is truly an adorable character, and I loved how the plot dived into some deeper topics like familial struggles and grace and redemption. I also adored the way that the story has an overall narrator, and I really felt that was one of the reasons that this entire story flowed so smoothly and effortlessly and was a creative touch to an already enjoyable read.

This has definitely become a new Christmas favorite, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I think I'm going to have to go ahead and pick up the print copy as I know I'm going to want to reread this and the print edition is downright gorgeous.

I can't possibly recommend this one enough, and I highly suggest you pick it up for a heartwarming holiday read this Christmas season.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I hope you all have a great rest of your day.
